Kung Fu Jedi said:Wasn't there some speculation that it was a nuclear device that was tested late last year when there was some major siesmic activity in North Korea? I know it was denied, but the speculation was that it was their first test.
When this does happen, the US will most likely just urge a return to the table for six way talks to help diffuse and issues that might arise. Invasion is not an option in this case.
^this^ is soooo going to happen :|Drexon said:"New info reveals that it was actually NK that was behind 911, all in favor of invading NK" *I*
I doubt even crazy ass KJI would test a nuke on his population. Didn't that train wreck happen in a populated area? I don't think they've detonated one yet. But when it happens, the US will try for sanctions or something, but there's really nothing they can do. Risking a strike would be too dangerous. PEACE.Poody said:havn't they already detonated their first nuke some time last year or was that a "train accident caring hazardous materials"?
I thought Japan had already developed nukes. I guess that whole WWII thing wouldn't have made that a good idea, huh?scorcho said:if NK tests a nuke, Japan will attempt to bring about sanctions to NK through the UN, which might get vetoed by China. the US will only launch a military strike against NK if, and only if they receive China's approval; as such, the US will not launch a military strike against NK.
probably the scariest scenerio - Japan decides to forgo the NPT and decide that it needs to build a nuclear deterrent itself as both China and NK are potential threats.

no, Japan and Germany post-WWII are technically not allowed to pursue any nuclear armaments. the US has helped soften this blow by leaving large military presences in both countries to offset any potential security concerns of either countries as both of their historical adversaries (france and china respetively) are nuclear countries.Pimpwerx said:I thought Japan had already developed nukes.
