When will the gaming year start?

It is march and I haven't bought a single game yet. I have been playing my backlog and revisted older games.

Maybe it is just me but when are things taking off?

And no I dont really play indie games. I am mostly about AAA.

This month everything is starting. By this month I mean March.
You got Watch dawgs on 5th, Doom Eternal on 20th and Re3Remake in april.

Well, the numerous delays of major AAA releases didn't help.

Not that I mind that, actually, it helped clear my backlog a little bit :)

For me, gaming year starts March 20th, with the release of Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing : New Horizons

Well for me it starts at...

March 30th - Persona 5 Royal
April 3rd - Resident Evil 3 Remake
April 10th - Final Fantasy VII Remake
April 28th - Sakura Wars

Thats my plan so far.

Final Fantasy VII Remake, Nioh 2, Animal Crossing, Last of Us Part 2, RE3, Ghosts of Tsushima, Iron Man VR, Cyberpunk, Bravely Default 2

There's a lot of good stuff coming.

I'm waiting for doom, tlou2, maybe 1 or 2 more ... But yeah, right now I'm playing Final Fantasy on ppsspp (the grind is amazing at 400% speed!).

Started Feb 14th for me with Dreams, but April is mostly open season for me with RE3Remake, FF7Remake and so forth (will be buying P5 Royal, Ori & Doom Eternal but it's a matter of fitting all that in a tight gaming schedule)

Have you gotten yourself noita'd yet? It's fun, brutally hard and addicting as heck.

Never played Nioh 1. Heard it was a cheap souls clone.

Should I get my hopes up for Nioh 2?

Why would you get your hopes up if you're not even willing to try Nioh 1 by yourself and make your own judgment? Are you always basing your gaming decisions on ''heard of''?

Saying Nioh 1 is a cheap Souls clone is reductive

Man I should really get Nioh 1 on PC now.

I didn't really give it a good enough shot when I gamefly'd it on PS4. I had just come off of beating Dark Souls 3 for the umpteenth time and wanted more...Nioh unfortunately didn't quite scratch the itch. I think now that I haven't played Souls in a while, maybe it's time to give it another go.

Edit:
That shit is still $49.99 on steam. Wtf. Pass.
