Where can Resident Evil go now?

Star of RE Survivor. Agent with a permit!

He infiltrated Sheena Island when a T-virus outbreak occured.
Friend of Leon's.

Ahh, I never played Gun Suvivor?
How big/important was the plot? Any synopsis of important info you could throw out, CVX?

Obviously it's better for the series if the developers and fans believe that Umbrella is too powerful to be defeated by a ragtag bunch...

but each new RE game presents evidence to the contrary.

Didn't it ever annoy you the nobody in RE4 would treat Leon as if he was a threat?
Yet in between every meeting he would blow through a nother army of mutants and spaniards,
and another building would be on fire, and the midget would still be all condescending to him.

"Miiiiiiiiiiiister Kennedy. So nice of you to join us."

We're getting the same feeling about our heros too. The Redfields, Valentines, and Kennedys of this series are just too badass for this waiting-around-and-getting-captured shit.

Maybe it is time for some new characters.

I personally wouldn't mind if they did infiltrate Umbrella's base.

But then what kind of game would it be? That truly is my biggest concern.

RE4?

Leon is infiltrating all day long in that piece.

Instead of a SWAT team trying to stop them, it's bio-weapons.

There's your game.

True.

The thing is....what type of ending would it have? Knowing Capcom, one of the Crew would get turned into a Bio weapon before it all ended.

I wonder how many people would actually approve of that type of game.
Well, it might piss Reilly off...

It's Jill Valentine shooting monstrosities with automatic weapons. I'm already semi-hard just typing it.

It would not have to be a genre away from RE4.

Woa, can't believe I missed this thread.

Sweet, THANKS, I hadn't realized how much I had forgotten :(

Damn, we need remakes of 2 and 3.

It helps to have been registered on GAF when it was made. :P

Just like RE4 in play style and perspective; it would be even more action-based than RE4 and multiple characters with different attributes would be available, like Chris, Clair, and Jill. The whole point of the game is an assault on Umbrella, so no puzzles of any kind.

The game would be the absolute END to the Umbrella storyline, tying up any loose ends from past games. Enemy types could be a combination of human soldiers and bio-weapons; this is Umbrella's home base, so the slow, lumbering zombies that would be far too easy to take out in the RE4 engine could be made to fit into the style better, having smarter A.I. or they could remove zombies all toegther in favor of nastier bioweapon monster-type enemies and/or "supersoldiers" like Wesker and Krauser.

And just for fun, throw in some bonus unlockable characters like Dante, Samanosuke, and Vanessa. :)

Ouch. That one hurt, CVX, for real :(

Really? Sorry, didn't mean it negatively at all. I just meant that you really didn't miss the thread since it was made before you came onboard. ;)

Now that's better. Human swat team members in infiltration missions, though... I think I'd go and play Call of Duty 2 instead. :P I want my monsters, damnit!

The game would start off with human Swat-team style enemies in the BEGINNING, then switch to nasty monsters and the like as your progress through it, just like how in the beginning of RE4, you fight "normal" villagers, and things get nastier from there. ;)

And these don't have to be just regular guys you're fighting against; mutated soldiers would be awesome to fight against; basically it could be that Umbrella got the formula right, and all the soldiers are now perfect killing machines, not zombies. If I were making the game, I'd throw in a level/section in the basement of the complex that would be like the "rejects room," an area FILLED with zombies who run right at you the minute you open the door.

Excellent ideas. :P

In Gun Survivor, we did fight soldiers resembling Hunk, and they were still BOWs. That would be cool. Hopefully it has some spooky elements too. :P

Can we have SOME puzzles?
I liked a lot of the booby trap, power-mad pointless "lets play with humans like animals, MOST DANGEROUS GAME" random shit that happens in a lot of the games, especially in the Mansion.

Just made me feel like a pawn for some rich maniac. :)

Sure, we're invading now, kicking ass and taking names, but these are the same TYPE of people we're fighting as preivously... surely they can throw some crazy pointless pizzles at us :) Just, uh, fuck the key crap and let me kick the door down.
