Where will EA bring its baseball engine after this year?

It's such a good engine; the team they have (I think EA Canada) has been doing a great job the last 2 years. So where will EA take this investment now that TakeTwo has the rights to the MLB (unless your a console-maker)?

My best bet would be to go with NCAA College Baseball. I don't know if they could include the minor leagues (due to their affiliation with MLB), but NCAA College Baseball is a very reputable league. There could also be the inclusion of international leagues if they wanted to.

A move like this could really push college baseball to the forefront. Heck, ESPN doesn't even have a college baseball section on their website!

Anywho. Thoughts?
 
Should sell that engine to Nintendo or Microsoft...i cant' imagine not playing a new MVP game next year...

Will EA be able to do roster updates tho? This game is so damn good, i would pay $5-10 for an update.

I've been wanting a college baseball game for a few years. I ask about it every E3 during my EA appointment. Always get a ,"maybe one day" :(
 
IGN says theres a rumor EA will make a NCAA Baseball game next year. This was right after the MLB deal was announced.
 
If it doesn't go somewhere I assume I'll be hunched over my Xbox (180) entering in updated rosters.

Barring that I assume Jesus Himself comes down and brings all the copies to a much more deserving plane of existence.
 
Nintendo has their own baseball now.. but Microsoft bought High Heat or some such from 3DO and hasn't done anything with it yet.
 
Eh, I honestly think MVP has a long ways to go before its a baseball engine I'll really miss. High Heat I missed, MVP still has its own little quirks and foibles that bug me. I could easily see 989 taking over where MVP is leaving off and making MLB into a terrific series. Also, 2k Games did a quality job with MLB '05 with strong presentation, so I'm not throwing them under the bus yet.

Basically to me it comes down to EA being kicked out of the MLB baseball game business isn't anything I'll miss come next fall, because I expect Sony, 2k Games, and possibly Nintendo and MS to pick up where EA left off and push the video game representation of my favorite sport even further. Its better than if EA got the license and it was just MVP.

Such as? High Heat is such a kneejerk response as time goes on.

MLB is weak ass crap minus the presentation...so maybe they could steal the "engine".
 
*SIGH* yeah I just got used to Mvp ( I liked ASB *bows head*) now Im gonna have to try a new game next year to get my Mlb fix......so is 989 still using the Mlb license next year?( like with permission from TT)
 
i want to go on record saying that ESPN MLB 2k5 is not only the worst sports game of the year, it is the worst sports game that visual concepts has ever crapped out
