Where Winds Meet gets 9M players in 2 weeks

It doesn't matter. GAF will find a way to call this "AI slop from CCHHHina"

Well deserved IMO. I wonder how much money it's generating. There is really no good reason to spend money.

Hey, there are no reasons for us, peasants! For the true believers, $40K isn't much to spend to show off your carriage rides! 😉

Good for the devs though. The game seems to be great even if it wasn't essentially free.

I tried it based on gaf recommendations and uninstalled after about an hour. To each their own.

I had the same reaction in the first couple of hours. But you have to keep playing until it clicks. 1 hour this game is nothing, literally. You haven't seen or experience anything the game offers

As for the sales, totally deserved. Its a great game and it has one of the best open world's to date

Why? China's numbers don't count?
Context is important to me. A game overperforming because of a single market is not very notable to me. In a few years the all-time CCU list will be completely overtaken by stuff like this.

lmao, what a bullshit of an excuse.

Game is fantastic and the fact that it's free and made by Chinese devs upsets people for no fucking reason.

By being F2P, the game manages to put an absurd number of western fully paid games to shame.
Upset? No. Context is good.

Somehow, it only applies to China. Nobody said a damn thing when US-centric games like Halo topped the charts.

Same reason I don't find it notable when Fifa, Madden and COD top the charts in the West. If someone asked me how a mid game like Black Myth Wukong hit 2,415,714 CCUs on Steam, I'd wave my hand dismissively and say China.

Yeah, two totally different markets. Holy shit 9 million bro! Mostly because of China. Oh.

You'll have to excuse my dear friend Kacho Kacho . He's a good egg but Chinese f2p make his autism flare up.
China shit in general honestly. I know you eat it up but I remain unmoved.

"Who is this for?"
"Nobody asked for this?"
"P2W slop"
"lolChina, what about Japan?"
"Blooooooooooodbooooooooooooooorne???"

Good for them. Nice to see a game come out that shits on expectations from the gamers.

The game is fun. Anything that has a big budget and is successful that wasn't produced by blue haired San Franciscans is a W in my book.
I think Korea is pumping out more interesting games that are higher quality and more deserving of praise.

But I've made my point here so I'll see myself out.

Tides of Annihilation would be the first decent budget Chinese game I'm very interested in. Check that out if you haven't, looks fricken awesome and badass.

It's great though?
Some platform fans though find it repulsive :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Stop seething at the comments then dude, this isn't like you.
Having an opinion you disagree with isn't like me? What.

You can shit on Capcom but I can't be critical of China slop or question bloated numbers for obvious reasons. Ok pal.

Btw I'm noticing a trend here. "Defensive" "frustration" now "seething." It's actually pretty funny. Not quite Hollow Knight defense force but close.

Been thinking of downloading this since it release but i have conflicted reports about the monitization that put me off.
Basically seen people say its set up like a mobile game, you know where its like you cant access this area for 24 hours, or cant open this chest for 6 hours etc.
Also seen people say thats wrong and its just cosmetics.

Which is it GAF?

Can we please stop with "slop" word…..god, some people in GAF are like that annoying kid who learns new word and keeps repeating in order to annoy people.

I'm sure the game is good for people who enjoys it but I'm not target audience for this and in honestly most Chinese games just don't appeal to me.

You're mixing up things.

Like every single gacha game there is in existence, you have a energy system in the game. This energy is spent every time you decide to tackle a stronghold, main boss, etc, In order to farm for items.

Keep this in mind - the energy system is there to make sure if you're farming for a specific gear, weapon, you keep coming back daily. It's the natural structure of any gacha game.

However, 99% of gacha games makes you pull for limited characters with specific currencies you get in the game. This games completely scracthes that. You won't get FOMO characters because the only thing thing you try your luck on are the cosmetics.

So when people say you this a gacha game, well it is, but not your typical gacha game.

Now the cosmetics here are crazy good, but expensive, won't deny that. They've got to get revenue somehow.

Think of this like a kind of a Fortnite model. You get your season passes, skins and such, everything else is basically free.
