Go On - NBC

After taking some time off, Ryan - who recently lost his wife in a car accident - is now ready to get back to work. And while he seems like his same old charming, cocky self, his boss won't put him back on the air until he seeks counseling. So, Ryan reluctantly joins a support group with one goal in mind: get in, get out and get back on the radio as quickly as possible.

Played by the fast-talking, sarcastic, and charismatic Matthew Perry, Ryan gives grief a real run for its money.

Ryan's total lack of interest in healing might be just what this group needs - and maybe, exactly what he needs to move on with his life.

Animal Practice - NBC

Meet Dr. George Coleman, a top-dog New York veterinarian. With an unorthodox style of operating, George's success comes from his undeniable gift with animals of all kinds. That is, all but the human kind. Dorothy Crane once held the key to George's heart, but today she also holds the key to the family business as she takes over Crane Animal Hospital. Not only is she George's new boss, but her romantic history with him (and her lack of experience with animals) is seriously cramping his style. Dorothy is whip-smart and ambitious, and she's going to make George pay for the past. Needless to say, he's determined not to make any changes in his (animal) kingdom.

Hotel Hell - Fox

After more than a decade of running restaurants in some of the world's top hotels, Gordon Ramsay knows firsthand the crucial importance of surpassing guests' highest expectations. In HOTEL HELL, Ramsay will travel to San Diego, CA; Coeur D'Alene, ID; Cambridge, NY; Milford, PA; and Windsor, VT, to fix horrid hotels, awful inns and just plain bad bed and breakfasts.

Stars Earn Stripes - NBC

In this fierce, entertaining and emotionally charged new competition honoring America's armed forces, nine celebrities will gather at a secret training facility where they will be challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises. From helicopter drops into treacherous locations to long range weapons fire, these stars will be tested physically, mentally and emotionally - and emerge in awe of the men and women who do such tasks on behalf of our country every day.

Oh Sit! - CW

Hosted by actor/comedian Jamie Kennedy and actress/television host Jessi Cruickshank, "Oh Sit!" is a fun, high-stakes, high-octane musical chairs competition, in which 12 thrill-seeking daredevils race head to head through five physically demanding, obstacle course-style eliminations as they each compete to claim a chair, to the sounds of a live band. At the end of the hour, only one contestant will be left sitting triumphant to seize the cash prize. Adding to the fun, Tanika Ray will be in the trenches with the contestants both on and off the track and will add color commentary from the sidelines as the action unfolds.

The Next - CW

In each episode of "The Next", four music industry superstars — Gloria Estefan, John Rich, Nelly, and Joe Jonas — will drop in on the lives of four up-and-coming local musicians. The show will move from city to city: Orlando, Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. In each town the contestants will be local musical heroes with a huge regional following of devoted fans, as well as a formidable social media presence on Twitter and Facebook. Some have weekly residencies at the hottest clubs; others have performed in the opening slot at stadium-sized concerts. These aspiring stars are not plucked from obscurity; they are proven artists on the brink of success. They just need a little help making the leap from opening act to headliner.

Bullet in the Face - IFC

Bullet In The Face stars Canadian actor Max Williams as Gunter Vogler, a brutally psychopathic, deliriously misogynistic German assassin-turned-cop. Balancing work or staying at home, painfully married or happily divorced, they know that taking care of the little ones while maintaining a social llife is a daily challenge. Whether it's hosing the little squirt down in the kitchen sink or hitting the bar strapped with a Baby Bjorn, these guys are on a roller-coaster adventure - parenting like you (and they) have never seen before.

Revolution - NBC

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why?

Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down, the lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman's life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously - and unbeknownst to her - had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future.

From director Jon Favreau and the fertile imaginations of J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke, comes a surprising "what if" action-adventure series, where an unlikely hero will lead the world out of the dark. Literally.

Partners - CBS

From multiple Emmy winners David Kohan and Max Mutchnick (Will and Grace) comes this personal story of Joe and Louis, lifelong friends and business partners whose bond has lasted longer than any of their romantic relationships. Funny, impatient and politically incorrect, Mindy Lahiri can quote every romantic comedy starring Meg Ryan that exists. She loves the good ones and the bad ones, because the girl always gets the guy. It's clear from day one that the residents of Hidden Hills are a little different. Over dinner, Marty and his family discover that their neighbors receive nourishment through their eyes by reading books, rather than eating. The Weavers soon learn that the entire community is comprised of aliens from Zabvron, where the men bear children and everyone cries green goo from their ears.

The Zabvronians have been stationed on Earth for the past 10 years, disguised as humans, awaiting instructions from home, and the Weavers are the first humans they've had the opportunity to know. As it turns out, the pressures of marriage and parenthood are not exclusive to planet Earth. Two worlds will collide with hilarious consequences as everyone discovers they can "totally relate" and learn a lot from each other.

Last Resort - ABC

500 feet beneath the ocean's surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receives their orders over a radio channel designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out: they're told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan. Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance, and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.

In a modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes, the iconic detective (Johnny Lee Miller) is taking on New York. When a brassy street-wise lawyer Martina Garretti (Janet Montgomery) joins a posh Manhattan law firm, she lowers expectations at first sight. She defends her clients with her distinct brand of legal strategy, intelligence, and Jersey attitude.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Nick

Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles begins as the turtles emerge from their hidden lair in the sewers for the very first time, ready to confront the wondrous and hostile world of New York City and face enemies more dangerous and pizza more delicious than anything they could have imagined. Funnier and with more Ninjutsu than ever before, the show will explore the companionship of four teenage brothers learning to rely on themselves and one another as they unravel the mystery of their existence and grow to become the heroes in a half-shell that they are destined to be.

The 26-episode, half-hour action-comedy series breathes new life into the wildly popular band of reptile brothers played by Jason Biggs as 'Leonardo,' Sean Astin as 'Raphael,' Greg Cipes as 'Michelangelo' and Rob Paulsen as 'Donatello'.

They are lured by the intoxicating lifestyle of New York’s wealthy elite.

Gavin (Terry O'Quinn), who has many skeletons in his own closet, is at the height of his world and commands the dark power of The Drake. Olivia (Vanessa Williams), his beautiful but enigmatic, supportive wife, wears her elegance, wealth and position in society as armor… but cracks will slowly be revealed. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory.

Chicago Fire - NBC

No job is more stressful, dangerous or exhilarating than those of the Firefighters, Rescue Squad and Paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. These are the courageous men and women who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. But the enormous responsibilities of the job also take a personal toll.

With big reputations and hefty egos, the pressure to perform and make split-second decisions is bound to put squad members at odds. When a tragedy claims one of their own, there's plenty of guilt and blame to go around. In the middle of a divorce, Lt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) tries to go about business as usual, but can't help butting heads with the brash Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) of the Rescue Squad - and each blames the other for their fallen team member. When it's "go-time," though, they put their differences aside and put everything on the line for each other. This is a look inside one of America's noblest professions.

From renowned producer Dick Wolf and the writing team behind "3:10 to Yuma" comes an edge-of-your-seat view of a dirty job that often means the difference between life and death.

Nashville - ABC

Chart-topping Rayna James (Connie Britton) is a country legend who's had a career any singer would envy, though lately her popularity is starting to wane. Fans still line up to get her autograph, but she's not packing the arenas like she used to.

Rayna's record label thinks a concert tour, opening for up-and-comer Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music, is just what Rayna needs. But scheming Juliette can't wait to steal Rayna's spotlight. Sharing a stage with that disrespectful, untalented, little vixen is the last thing Rayna wants to do, which sets up a power struggle for popularity. Could the undiscovered songwriting talent of Scarlett O'Connor (Clare Bowen) be the key to helping Rayna resurrect her career?

From executive producer Callie Khouri (writer of Thelma & Louise) comes this contemporary drama about love, power, money, family and music.

Beauty and the Beast - CW

The series is centered on Catherine Chandler (Kristin Kreuk), a tough-minded NYPD homicide detective who is haunted by witnessing her mother's murder nine years ago – as well as the murderer’s quick demise at what she perceived to be the hands of a beast. Catherine agrees to protect his identity in return for any insight he may have into her mother's murder. Thus begins a complex relationship between Catherine and Vincent, who are powerfully drawn to each other yet understand that their connection is extremely dangerous for both of them.

Emily Owens, M.D. - CW

The series follows the life of Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer), who is a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she realizes that her med-school crush Will Rider and her high school nemesis Cassandra Kopelson also work. Reba dreamt of becoming a country star herself, but put her career on hold to raise a family. Now she's questioning all of that, big-time. With the ink on her divorce barely dry, Reba packs up her sharp-tongued mother, Lillie May (Lily Tomlin), her two kids and the U-Haul and heads for sunny California to begin a new chapter. Leaving Nashville in the rear view, they start over at their Malibu residence -- the last remaining asset they have. Reba gets to know her new open and loving neighbor Kim and her son, Sage, but also discovers that relocation to Southern California is going to be quite an adjustment for a traditional southern belle: the West Coast seems like the polar opposite of Music City, and Reba feels like an outsider. Still, with the support of her family she sets about finding her voice, jump-starting her music career with the help of her new music agent, Geoffrey, and embracing this chance to begin again.

I probably could give some impressions on the network fare if anyone wants them. (Also, is this supposed to be in the community side?)

That would be very useful, thanks! (and no, it's not supposed to stay in community. A mod is going to move it soon!)

Oh Sit said:

This literally sounds like the worst thing ever. Jesus fuck.

Man fuck you America, and I mean this sincerely.

The Office, Wilfred and now the Inbetweeners? This makes me so angry (I know it's just a tv show)

But seriously, get your own fucking properties.

That Copper one sounds awesome, I must have read Gangs of New York like 10 times, one of my favourite books of all time.

Returning shows:

Doctor Who
Sons of Anarchy
Boardwalk Empire
Parks and Recreation
Treme :D
Grey's Anatomy, maybe
Fringe, maybe
Homeland !!
The Walking Dead
American Horror Story, maybe
The Thick of It, if I get caught up in time
I think there's also a new season of The Hour this fall?

Considering these new shows:

Last Resort
The Mindy Project
Call the Midwife
Copper
PBS's airing of The Ring Cycle

Nothing that looks as good as Homeland, but it should be a good fall.

pretty much only Boardwalk Empire, Treme, Sons of Anarchy, Its Always Sunny and maybe Walking Dead. I'd also watch Homeland, but I don't have showtime and I haven't seen the first season yet

Uh how expensive is that how to train your dragon spinoff going to be unless the quality is really sub par...

Anyway, I just can't really get into a lot of new tv, I'll be watching Homeland, Fringe, Sons of Anarchy, Boardwalk Empire, It's Always Sunny, and Archer (this is on in the fall right?

Not intrested in CN or Nicks Offerings - 2K3 Turtles did everything i wanted in the franchise.

As for The Primetime shows.

CBS

Elementary: Trash from the word go.
Vegas: If this was 1980's Vegas, yes. 1960's Vegas...ehh. Same Fate as Pan Am
Partners: More Mess From the Network. No dice.
Made in Jersey: If it surives a season, i watch. If not, no big Loss.

ABC:
666 Park Ave: Maybe.
Last Resort: Intresting. Might Be good.
Nashville: Here is the reason why there will no good Singing rivaly shows. Glee got this right despite its Japanese inspired Trope Playing, there is no tension between adults - or the tension is inherntly stupid. This is a pass.
Zero Hour: Im a give this one a chance.

NBC:
Revolution: Six Episodes, they got to get good on the first three. Im sticking if they do.
Chicago Fire: A Hit for the Mainstream, Not For me. PASS.
New Normal, Go On, Guys with Kids. NO, NO, NO. PASS.

Fox:
Ben and Kate and Mindy Project. Maybe On Both, Might Stick with Mindy.
Mob Doctor - This is a Push, heading to Pass.
The Following - When it airs, the first episode must knock it out of the park. If it does its the show of the Decade.

CW:
Arrow: Dont like the lead. Should have Stuck with Smallvilles Green Arrow. PASS because of it.
Beauty and the Beast (CBS Version): The idea of having a bishonen lead without badassness and white hair doesnt fly with me. This is a one and done series and its a damn fucking shame because the CBS version could have be done with out the mucky muck that the females do over at CW.
Cult: Maybe, because the critcs hate the show, with a honest premise i might look at it in a better light. One, Maybe Done if it is bad.
Carrie Diaries: Would have worked better as a Psycho Drama which could explain why Carrie ended up the most fucked up female i ever seen on TV. Pass.

Sticking with Fringe, Supernatural, Nikita.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Walking Dead are the only things I'll be watching for the rest of the year (Besides the remaining episodes of Breaking Bad that we have left before mid-season break).
Hope I am able to watch them on AFN or something.

While in my remote location I will be living in, I will probably track down Game of Thrones in Blu Ray and give it a try. And I will watch the first season of Rome, which I have owned for a while and not tried out.

At this point I have no clue what new shows I'm going to give a chance. I will look through the list to see what looks interesting. Few of the shows that I watch are coming to an end so that opens up room.

EDIT: Great job on the OP RatskyWatsky.

It's fall already? I still accidentally write 2011 on stuff sometimes.

Bullet in the face seems like what I wanted Dexter to be and was supremely disappointed when it wasn't. I want more bad guy. Not I killed dudes who deserved it. Fuck that.

Billy Burke looks so bad in that still though.

Why did they change the music in the trailer? "Touched" was so much better than music they replaced it with.

I'm going to do what I always do: be really lazy and wait until some (if any) of the shows build up a good word of mouth and catch up later. I can't say that any of the shows described here jump out to me as essential (although I must say I'm curious as to just how bad Oh Sit! and the monkey hospital show are, so I might have to watch those pilots).

With the end of House, the one show I will be watching is NCIS on Tuesdays at 8.

The only other show I watch is SVU, but I normally just catch that in syndication.
