I'm just curious what everyone is going with. NBA 2K6 and NBA Live are both very very good this year. NBA 2K6 leaning more towards online features and Live 2006 being a bit more arcadey and fast paced.

Right now I am leaning towards 2K6 because of the online functionality. As some of you may know, the GAF Sports Whores (tm) hold leagues for every sport, basketball, football, baseball, hockey, what have you. 2K6 would be a natural fit with comprehensive stat tracking, trades, fantasy drafts, etc. The gameplay is also much improved from last year.

What about you?
 
From my inside source's impressions, Im leaning towards NBA2K6.

My source also says the Bucs are awesome and Ronde > Tiki.
 
2k6... Live just doesnt do it for me anymore, even though I do like the feature of shooting a shot of your choice.

2K6. I bet Live's gameplay will consist of superstar player averaging 50 points a game, and roll players having no effect at all.

2k2 still the king.

If I had to choose today's offerings I would go with Live because Sega has totally fucked up their NBA games, but since they usually all blow I will just stick to the really good sports games (i.e. Winning Eleven).
 
I've gotten the 2k series two years in a row now and it's starting to get annoying frustrating to play games online. Three-pointer, three-pointer, three-pointer. Also, I think their physics engine, thing, is wacky. And getting wackier every year.

EA's NBA game always looks retarded.

But for $20, fuck it, why not, NBA 2k6.

I just looked on Ebgames, and it says $40 I was gonna get 2K6, but if its not 20 fuck that i can deal without it

probably 2k6. i think last years game was actually pretty good when people played sim-ball. i know there are the ridiculous (and true) stories about how shaq was playing PG, big men defending all-star guards at the 3 point line with success and so on, but when people played the right way i thought the game was pretty fun.

my problems with 2k5 were as follows:

- big man play was a fucking JOKE
- why can steve nash play good D against shaq in the post?
- fucking game needs a DUNK BUTTON DUDE! damn!


the best part of 2k6 @ e3 was the net animation. seriously it impressed me. but beyond that it seemed pretty much the same game. of course this was at e3 and i have no doubt things improved since then

The cheapest shipping takes a few days. I doubt you have it launch week though. Still a nice deal if you have freedom pass or something :p

BTW, they also take trade-ins and will credit it towards your order. You HAVE to have the booklet and box tho and it has to be in very good condition :p
 
They have the release date as Oct 1st,plus add on the shitty shipping and Ill see the game 3 weeks from now :lol

Id rather talk my bro into $20 and come up with the other 20 myself.
 
They always have weird dates but the anime I order from them comes a few days after release. If you have stuff to trade, it's an excellent deal as we'll have a pre-season week :p

If I do somehow get the game its going to be release date/day after and im going to get my Rockets with T-MAC! you read this dm,you take your Bulls and you leave my HOME team and HOUSTON players alone! No way am I going to miss pre-season games and then get owned left and right cause I didnt get practice with the game.

I wish I had some stuff to trade,but my 2nd xbox and gamecube are going towards 360 stuff.

Last year was straw that broke my back with live.. looked ok... played like ass... and became boring within a week.. And the thing I care about most in any sports game is the franchise mode.. Live sounds ok.. but i know the first year EA does anything it sucks... hahah anyways after being a Live fan for the past 3 years... I will be buying 2k6
 
I'd prefer a neither option because I'll probably stick with NCAA College Hoops since it's the best basketball game going round. However if I had to pick a pro game I'd choose 2k6 mainly because I hate the skating style of NBA Live.
