Who else wouldn't mind seeing another cel-shaded Zelda?

I never said that, moron.

Wind Waker WAS beautiful and I don't see why other games made with that style wouldn't be as gorgeous.

I really hope we see another Celda.
I still regard wind waker as one of the best looking/animated video games this generation, and believe it will stand the test of time perhaps better than other Zeldas.

I can't wait to have more.

I would have preferred it, the upcoming one is boring just to look at. only my opinion of course
Exactly my opinion as well.

But then again, we TF fans know what we're talking about :)

What would be interesting is a game (possibly Zelda) where you go back and forth between two different "worlds" -- one being cel shaded, the other being "normal shaded". The transition might be too jarring, though.

I've always though a Mario game done with cel shading would be interesting, especially if at some pivotal point in the game ("Tah dah! You just beat the boss after playing for only 15 minutes") the bad guy warps into a different dimension... Mario hops through the portal and ends up in a realistically shaded world. The idea of him warping between the world of fantasy and the world of reality would make for an interesting game, especially if game rules changed as he went.

You know, SMS uses cel-shading to a degree. It's most noticeable on the Pianta people.

I'd kill for a cell-shaded Zelda game where Link looked like this:

i would totally be down for another celshaded zelda.

although i'd like the style to be more along the lines of the art that Nintendo had made for the game way back in the day.

the capcom art would also do. it was the first thing that came to mind when the word that celshaded zelda hit before any movies got released.

This is exactly what I was thinking way back when Celda was revealed. I would like them to make a Link that looks like the actual art from the games, rather than that ugly Link model from Wind Waker.

Gagh, at the people suggesting a cel-shaded and realistic look in one game.

I wouldn't mind another Celda, but not with WW's character design. Not just 'cause it had the tendency to be either inspired or utterly bland, but because I'd like an attempt at another style. Strike out in another new direction rather than retread old ground.

Mind? Id fucking love it.

Id settle for a cel shaded pirate adventure spin-off featuring Tetra as well. That would be tight.

+1000 light side points for more Celda.

I wouldn't mind a sequel to The Wind Waker, but if so, I would like to see Link and Tetra grown-up perhaps. Try out the cel-style with a teen link, as some people desire in regards to the classic Nintendo artwork or Capcom art.

I figure a cel shaded Zelda will end up on the NDS sooner or later. I hope so as I have always loved the look.

not only not mind, but even after seeing the awesome-looking Twilight Princess, I'd actually prefer a cel-shaded game...

not that I liked Wind Waker more, but really we've already gotten two dark and realistic Zelda's on N64, so before Nintendo returns to that route I would have liked to see them do another Wind Waker style game, but hopefully one is in the works for Revolution...

I've been replaying Zelda: WW and once again Ive been swept away by the graphics again. Despite what anyone says about the game looking kiddy or stupid, I think that the graphics are just excellent. The colours are great and its brillianjt in motion. The game does get boring during the triforce hunt, so I decided to stop playing there because I cant be arsed going back and forth the ocean just to find some stupid maps. The game could have been made better by making it more difficult, adding more dungeons and making the ocean a lot smaller, but you cant fault the graphics.

After playing it again though, Im worried this might be the only cel-shaded Zelda that Nintendo will bother making. Zelda: TP looks amazing too and its nice to see Zelda back to a more realistic look, but I hope Nintendo dont just stay with the realistic look and forget all about the cel-shaded Zelda, because it did look brilliant. I just hope that on revolution we can see something similar to this generation by having one cel-shaded Zelda and one realistic Zelda.

Im sure Im not the only one who feels like this though, Im sure there are many others who would like to see another cel-shaded Zelda.

I think Zelda on the DS is going to be cel shaded. And I wouldn't mind it at all. Although I expect Ocarina to be ported to the DS too.

I know this is all down to personal preference but for me the Wind Waker is the most graphically impressive game this generation, the whole world has a very cool and consistent look to it, i love the art. Twilight Princess looks ok now, but i really doubt it will stand the test of like, where as the Wind Waker probably will,

I think they should remake the original NES game with the cel-shaded graphics, and an expanded world and story.
Seeing the original Zelda's world fully realized in 3d would be a dream come true. I can kinda picture Zelda II as more of a cel-shading candidate though. There we're alot of moments where WW reminded me of Zelda II.

Shit, a Zelda that looked like the old art is one of my dream games, and that's a high honor considering my other ones would have to provide some kind of nakedness somehow and Zelda wouldn't.

There would be nothing cooler in the world than a new Zelda looking exactly like those pictures. When I used to play Zelda back in the day, I used to use the pictures in the instruction booklets to help me flesh out the game world, so that when I played Zelda 2 or LttP (I don't even think Lewis Carroll could imagine Zelda 1's green and brown splotches into anything more than green and brown splotches), I played it like I was actually playing the pictures. @_@ I did that with a lot of games back then though. That's what I'm going to miss about the old games; they're like books, it's up to you to flesh them out and make it into something. There's no work involved with new games!

The Wind Waker is still a gorgeous game though, in and of itself. It's tied with Yoshi's Island as best looking Nintendo game evah. I know that the style was carried over onto Minish Cap, but that just didn't look as good; TMC looked like a Sqaure RPG (ick), while TWW had a subtle beauty about it. I'd say that it inspired good feelings on the inside if I was Famitsu. B) TWW FOREVER

I think the realistic look isn't working for me. I saw a Zelda:TP demo at a GC kiosk and was actually quite unimpressed. It actually looked more cartoonish and "last gen" than Wind Waker. Goes to show how style and art direction go a long way.

Actually, I think the better cartoony look is Kingdom Hearts II's approach, rather than cel-shading. It's just so clean and free of artifacts.

I want a 3D Link's Awakening with that art style and cel-shaded. It would be the best Zelda ever.

I'm not digging the look of the first picture, but those second two pictures could definitely be done with next-gen cel-shading, based on the next-gen cel-shading we've already seen. And I'd like it. Just like I liked WW's look, and just like I like TP's look.

The most important aspect of a zelda to me, however, is its gameplay. The amount of dungeons, the content of the sidequests, the content of the world and towns. In that aspect, WW fails miserably compared to the rest of the zeldas, and thus it is easily the worst zelda I've ever played (It's still at least a 9/10 for me, though.

I remember this picture a lot.. I remember a lot of Link to the Past's artwork, it was insanely good.

To be honest, Im not too fond of how Link looks in those pictures of the old art, WW Link looks better IMO, however the environments looks better in those pictures. Seeing adult Link would be really cool as well. Radioheads avatar is a made up version of a cel shaded adult link and it actually looks really good.

Damn it. I don't remember the game, but it was an RPG I think with beautiful cel-shading. I remember a ship, and a starlit sky. that's all I can remember

I would love a new cel-shaded zelda game on next generation hardware. More clearer textures, anti-aliasing and maybe a more mature style. It would rock!

Exactly.

I love cel-shading, but I hated that squat, ugly, football-eyed thing that Nintendo tried to foist off on us. That wasn't Link, it was a... a baby troglodyte or something. :p Give me a cel-shaded Zelda with characters that look like the classic game art and I'd be a happy camper.

We have a name of our own for him--pissboy (hence the filename of the picture). Not sure why, it just stuck.

But even in the game, they don't call him Link. And they admit he's not the Hero of Time, just a stand-in. He's just the Boy Garbed in Green. I hate him (although I admit, he's a complete badass--more, slicker moves than ever, and near-invulnerable...ie. game too easy).

Nintendo just can't win can they?

Everyone bitched about cel shading, so they go back to "realistic" grpahics, and then everyone bitches at them and demands cel shading again. Fucking crazy.

That's said, I think another cel-shaded zelda would be nice, but im in the take it or leave it group. it was a beatiful game, but TP is a beautiful game too.

I do think that DS could do a ice cel shaded zelda. the "islands" bonus level in Mario 64 ds had a look very similar to WW.

I want a new 2D cel-shaded Zelda on the DS. The Minish Cap was outstanding and another game in that vein with upgraded graphics and gameplay would be amazing.

i thought minish cap was rather sub-par for a zelda game. a good game in its own right, but certainly not on the level of link to the past, or Links awakening, or either of the oracle games, IMO.

It used a combination of new textures and a cell shade plugin for emulators. It's not finished yet. Also work is in progress to smooth exisiting models instead of the near imposbile task of replacing them.

Oh, I would really love seeing another Wind Waker style game. But please make it harder, longer and way less filled with water ^^.

Yeah, that's awesome. You know what would be brilliant? If Twilight Princess were re-released on Revolution with this kind of graphics filtering, re-texturing, etc. for a nice visual treat.

I think a look like that of Cel-OoT would be the best choice for the DS Zelda. Flaws aren't that obvious when choosing this look imo.

That wouldn't fit, imo...TP has an atmosphere that's not as happy as Wind Wakers was.
In Wind Waker i had the impression that even Ganon was my friend. ;)

But I have to agree with Yoshi. Cel shading for aDS Zelda would be the best choice! :)

I don't think many people had a problem with the cell shading in zelda. I wasn't a fan of some of the character designs (*tingle* /shudder) but overall it was a pretty game. Most of the fans of the originals I know didn't have a problem with it, infact they loved it - the game just fell short of what I expect from a zelda title.

I still think WW is the best looking game this gen. It's an absolute marvel.. I'd love another cel-shaded Zelda.

They should just leave TP as it is, but I would love to see a new Zelda game that looked like that. Adult Link looks perfect in those pictures and so does young link. In fact, young link looks a lot better in those pictures than in WW

I wouldn't mind seeing some console games period.

There's not a single console game I want for the remainder of the year.

I wanted Zelda and Kingdom Hearts.

I'm getting Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion on PC.
