In the first round, the girl wins and hits the guy as hard as she can. Then comes the savage part—he wins the next round and retaliates so forcefully it looks like he almost killed her

So, who was in the wrong? She hit him first, but he didn’t hold back either. I’m so conflicted

That aside it didn't look bent in (or not very much) when she hit him so it wouldn't have done too much damage but when he hit her it was noticeably bent inwards and she could've caught a bad (hard) corner and took some real damage. The guy with the mic noticed (he was obviously looking at it) and that might've been why he was trying to stop the guy from swinging. The guy swinging was just playing the stupid game; same as the girl was. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Assuming the video is legit and not faked for e-points.
