Watching the Files on Prime currently

Mulder was a legendary profiler but his singular passion was his flaw
Scully was a doctor, but her skepticism forced Mulder to find answers in science as well as the extra terrestrial

Azelover

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
They complement each other, but Scully was the better agent.

I never made it far in my rewatch, but doesn’t Mulder get the business a little better?

He’s has some span of control, even if it’s a supply closet and choosing cases. Scully is the audience, so by virtue of that, I’m not good at being an FBI agent.

This could all just be what stood out early because it recontextualized what I gathered from episodes in syndication, but that could switch up when viewing the whole series.

Scully far and away. Mulder is like Ringo in the Beatles tho, he is an essential ingredient to the magic formula, even if he may be bad at his job when compared to his peers.

Mulder had the intuition, the encyclopedic knowledge, the professional connections, the drive to investigate beyond the surface, Scully was better in the sense that she was a more by the book agent I guess. For the first few seasons though people in the bureau talk about Mulder as some kind of wunderkind who was wasting his potential on shit they didn't believe in. It's an interesting question.

They were complementing each other as partners, and neither of the two would have been anywhere as successful without the other.

Mulder was brilliant, possibly unmatched in the Bureau, but about as stable as a sack of frogs on the point of a pyramid.

While Scully was 'just' a well above average agent she had an incredibly disciplined mind and perfect consistency in her exacting standards and work ethic.

They obviously worked better together, where Mulder's emotions were tempered by Scully's logic, but, when seperated, Scully would continue to be an excellent agent while Mulder tended to go off the rails and burn out.

Conversely, as undeniably handsome as Mulder was, Scully was ridiculously hot.

Has to be Mulder right? He's the one with the intuition and who sets most of the cases in motion, whilst Scully just blows out her mouth all the time and dismisses Mulder as crazy even though she's in the process of birthing and raising an alien baby or whatever.

It’s a tie....but Scully was more attractive (Season 4, Especially).
But to be honest they both would be dead without each other saving one another multiple times. I guess that’s why the dynamic worked so well. Scully was just as badass when it came to shoot outs (I think more so). She didn’t play around, emptying her clip into multiple bad guys.

None of them acted like real agents.
If they were real agents they would have been investigating Michael Flynn or something, not chasing some stupid monsters.
