I know this is a rage bait post from the OP, but I also know there are genuinely people out there who actually think this way. again, it's all about personal preference. it's just like food. some people like pizza and some like taco. as long as you're enjoying what you're getting, who cares?
just recently with the extraction shooter genre seeing a surge in popularity, mainly due to titles like Arc Raiders and to a lesser extent, Marathon, we also see Escape From Duckov, a cute looking single player asymmetrical PVE only indie game that was developed by 5 people, getting some surprise success. some call it a meme game, but it had sold 2 million copies on Steam now. it looks pretty fun while still preserving a lot of the core factors that made people like extraction shooters. hell, I'm probably going to pick it up eventually even thou I had tried both Arc Raiders and Marathon and don't plan on buying them any time soon.
it's all about personal preference and taste. remember, games are for playing. it implies there has to be a fun factor in there. if it's not fun to you, then it doesn't matter how good the game's reviews are or how popular it is. just play whatever that rewards you with fun and enjoy it.
