How long has Drinky even been a mod? I've been posting here for five years at least and I don't remember it ever getting this bad.

Well at least E3 2003. I remember the whole thread he made and stickied back then.

And Drinky =/= Doug (I hope). The person behind Drinky has posted several times and I've found we enjoy the same games by the same developers and there's really no beef between me and him as far as I'm concerned. I just don't agree with his carrying on with his Drinky Crow character. I tried it (PS2 fanboy that hated Nintendo) for about six months before I started posting at GAF instead of GameFAQs. It was really fun manipulating people at the beginning. I admit I really got into it, but I got sick of it and stopped. The people who I was trying to piss off were nice guys who didn't deserve it (like CVX for one).

I just don't understand why people can carry on like that. Perhaps there's some life issues and this is a way of taking out stress? I don't know... It just creates more problems though, and it saddens me that GAF is starting down the path that I saw NGG go down so many years ago.

Drinky Crow, MAF, drohne, BuddyC, Izzy, Prine, sonycowboy, and about 100,000,000 other guys on this board all had their accounts deleted by Grubdog when he hacked into the site. So now measures are being taken to make sure it doesn't happen again by pissing people off.

Because Sony and Microsoft fans can co-exist. They can't co-exist with Nintendo fans though. Didn't you read all of them saying how they can't tolerate Nintendo fans, hence that justify their trolling action on Nintendo. Then Nintendo fans reacted. It's all a vicious cycle.

I agree even with your point although your analogy is a bit off. I wouldn't compare nintendo-fanboys to jews and blacks. They haven't exactly gone through the same hard times...

I think GAF would be pretty dull without the fanboys, but that's just my opinion.

MAF normally doesn't troll console/games. But he does post some stupid shit sometime when he's bored

as for Drinky, his persona + new admin status just gives his remarks a bit more gravitas (whether or not there's any real weight is another debate) but I actually think he's not that bad a poster; just a godawful troll/mod sometimes. He did try before the Grubdog fiasco to explain his position on Nintendo in one of the threads so hats off for effort there.

I know I haven't been around here much but this is my opinion:

Seperating the Nintendo fans from the rest of GAF won't do anything. If anything it will decrease forum traffic and variety which results in a lose/lose situation for the community and the administration.

Allowing Drinky Crow to do his thing is just simply baiting the Nintendo fans to come out and do the same shit that started this mess in the first place again. GAF admins, I have great respect for you guys but this is one of the dumbest decisions in this forum's history.

Personally I think we just need better moderators. I enjoy this forum and the people posting here - but there are mods that are biased, plain and simple.

A moderator needs to be willing to make tough calls and not take sides. When you put the power into the hands of someone who takes a side, that creates a bigger problem.

[PS: I like MAF, he's a good person and fun to game with on LIVE.]
