It is funny what Google AI says about this issue

The grass rendering bug in The Witcher 3 on PS5, where grass appears and disappears abruptly, is not consistently present across all consoles. This issue likely stems from a combination of factors related to how the game interacts with the specific hardware configuration of individual PS5 consoles, potentially including differences in hardware revisions or system software configurations.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Hardware Variations:
While PS5 consoles are generally consistent, subtle differences in hardware components or revisions might lead to variations in how they handle the game's rendering demands, particularly with complex elements like grass.

  • Software Conflicts:
There's a possibility that specific system software configurations, saved game data, or even background processes running on some PS5s could interfere with the game's rendering pipeline, causing the grass bug.

  • Game-Side Issues:
It's also possible that the bug is related to how the game itself is optimized for PS5, and that certain game files or configurations on some consoles might be more prone to triggering the issue.

  • Inconsistent Bug Reporting:
The bug might be more prevalent than some reports suggest, but users may not always report it, or it might not be noticed or considered a significant issue by some players.

  • Potential Fixes:
While there's no guaranteed fix, some players have found that reinstalling the game, rebuilding the console's database, or even restoring the system to its default settings can sometimes alleviate the problem.
It's important to note that the issue isn't widespread enough to indicate a major problem with the PS5 hardware itself, but rather a combination of subtle hardware and software interactions within the game's environment.

So we have most likely different PS5 consoles, so potentially each of our console, with bug and without bug, is different, some smallest compoment are different. So it most likely probably cause for the bug, there is absolutely no other reasonable explanation that can make sense...

Noticed it a few times on my 2nd revision PS5. I'm not very far on my PS5 playthrough however (still in Velen and Novigrad). More noticeable in certain areas than others. Depends on the type of grass I suppose. I don't find it too bothersome so far but I would like to see this fixed especially if gets worse later.

to help it fixed you can report it to CDPR - https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/witcher-3/playstation/sp-technical/issue/655/contact-to-support If more of us report, more likely it will be fixed. You might not notice it much now, but in Toissant you will notice it a lot, very bright there, vivid and it is most visible along with sky flickering

so I have been reporting more and more to CDPR support page and I have been getting responses, a good thing is that they stopped spamming that their resourses redirected to other projects, and now they just say they cannot share the information about issue. So maybe at last they looking seriously into the issue but I wonder if it is actually kind of issue that is not possible to fix because of really some smallest but critical differences in PS5 consoles. Also I had a lot of people reporting the issue, one of the friends had even a support guy trying to figure out the issue and asking for bugged save, but he did not even know that it is not bug with save but with entire game... it either only the support guy was not aware or perhaps CDPR not aware in general or decided totally forget about it. But hope is that they realy do fix it or at least mods kit that will added will have some means to fix the bug...

You lose all credibility if you have to ask an LLM to think for you.

I have been collecting info about it from my own playthrough and playthroughs of many people I have met over internet. Basically AI just summirized all the info that me and other players gathered. So believe me there is no lost of any credibity, just an AI summizing all, and doing it stunningly good.

You said the AI summary was funny but it wasn't funny, it just spat out a gamut of troubleshooting options. "Your console is defective, or maybe your save file is corrupted, or maybe you're running too many processes, or maybe it's a bug, maybe try reinstalling?"

What was funny about that to you that you thought it was worth shitting up the forum with a bunch of retarded bullet points?

it was funny because I did not expect it can spat out gamut of suggestions why it is happening. ANd gamut of troubleshooting options is not guaranteed to to help, it was smart enough to say that instead of shitting with invain promises that it would fix anything. It was the best summary, and it was funny as well, nobody ever summirized it like that among people, so I am a little confused why is it shitting while it brilliantly compiled all possible causes. We do not even know if CDPR knows how to fix it!! they said 2 years ago they are aware of the bug, they said it to many people who reported this issue to them... So I do not know if it is wise just to use say that it is shitting up the forum in related topics, sharing information... I would say that shitting up is talking about absolutely unrelating issues that do not give any hints or information, and sorry, it is not meant like offense, but rather a relating statement, shitting up is critisizing those who try to do something on forum with related topic.. If people do not have anything to say but critisize, then it is truly not a wise thing to do...

Do you get your platitudes from an AI, too? There's no use talking to someone like you. Might as well talk to chatgpt

wait, is your only complaint vegetation pop-in? thats not that big a deal, it is obviously not a good thing, but who cares?

it was great to know that it searched all the discussions to yeird such results among which the statement of differences in PS5 consoles was the most interesting. Since it was discussed already in this forum also, and so far is the most logical explanation of the bug in the game. Or else how do you explain what triggers the bug for some and for others there is nothing you can do to trigger the bug at all... I know, it might not be interested for you, but this subforum is about discussing and possibly finding solution for those who are interested in the game to run without this atrocious bug. I know a guy who changed 3 ps5 consoles and was not lucky to get one that would not have a bug. And my friend got one bugless right from the first try... and me, as well as many others does not want the normal gameplay to depend on the luck, that is why there is discussing in this forum about this issue and that is why I believe any piece of inforamtion could be valuable, even though from just AI, that does not a bad job and with many other bugs in other games it can help a lot.

vitopursuer brother

get you the ps5 pro, it fixes the garbage
did you get one already? :) I think it is worth for now to wait for mod kit, for dlc, and maybe at least fix, ton of people reported to them already, I have a lot of people in comments under my videos about bug asking for possible fix and saying that they did report the bug

it is not only me who cannot deal with it, but many other people who just gave up playing until it is fixed but who knows if it will be fixed for real

Playing blood and wine now for the first time (beat the OG on
PS4 but never played the DLC).

It looks great in performance mode on the PS5 Pro. The environments still hold up fine to this gen. Characters/animations fine but maybe lacking a little. Not sure how lang side quests I should do or if I should just do the "main" DLC quests.

It's the highest achieving Easter Euro Jankware. You can sell a bunch of copies and take the ware out of the jank, but you can't take the jank out of the ware. That's what my mom used to say at least. Rings true.
