Agreed, both tackles in particular. Oher played like shit. Protecting the blind side my ass. Von Miller was rushing past the other tackle like he wasn't even there.
that catch that was ruled incomplete... robbery by the way)
Ugh, this is what I'm sick of hearing. Stop it. The ball hit the ground, and that pushed it out of his grip. He didn't even have either hand on it for a moment and ended up re-grabbing it with his elbow. Not a catch.

NFL officials have gotten catches and drops wrong many a time, so it's hard for me to let a retired officials word carry that much more weight.
You know more than Mike Carey, a retired NFL official who did that for decades.
Cool.
And btw, it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to tell from that angle.
some gif on the internetz

A retired official who has taken a lot of heat for being in disagreement with actual officials all year, including on this call. Yes, I feel confident that I'm right and he's wrong.
And also that you're blind. It's as clear as it's possible to be.
If it's impossible to tell then the ruling stands, which was incomplete. And they did say "stands" and not "confirmed".
In 2014, during an 8 game losing streak, Cam showed up to every press conference and placidly gave the same canned responses people wanted game after game. No one cared about that or gave him credit for a stoic demeanor during a time of adversity for the team. They just relentlessly bashed him for "regressing" as a player, despite playing with several injuries behind a terrible line. Until they started winning, and basically didn't stop until 2 days ago, during which Cam had these same critics defending his celebratory antics and calling everyone racists.
The bottom line is it doesn't really matter how you act, as long as it's within' league rules and doesn't negatively affect the team, you're going to take baseless shit when you're losing and be told your piss tastes like rainwater when you're winning.

And aIl think the other guy is saying that a GIF of footage that all of us have already seen isn't going to prove anything new.
See? This is how you post a reasonable reply and not some emotionally charged babbling.
They didn't confirm the ruling but in your mind, they were blind too.
I'm not the one saying "internetz". The officials don't get to see the same slow-mo, multi-angle footage we do. They called it as "stands" because they didn't see anything to overturn it in the limited time they have to make a determination. The footage above is crystal clear.
"crystal clear". lol, gotta love it.
Thank you, Greg, but I think what's even more evident than this footage is that these individuals will not, under any circumstances, admit they are wrong.
What? To me (and millions of others) that was indisputable evidence of a catch. There was no visual proif that the ball touched grass. And aI think the other guy is saying that a GIF of footage that all of us have already seen isn't going to prove anything new.
Looking at that GIF, I'd be more inclined to say catch than no catch. I don't think it's 100% indisputable though. When he hits the ground the ball pops up against his shoulder away, from his hand, and it does that because the nose of the ball absolutely hits the ground. The question is whether he maintains control before, during, and after the ball hits the ground while he's holding onto it. Given that as he rolled he had to regain control, I'm not so sure.
Link the video of call where the officials confirmed the call on the field.
I'll wait.
Didn't the actual indisputable touching of the ground part come as he rolled over and the ball left his hand for a split second and bounced on the ground(not shown in this gif)? Jim Nantz points it out right when the ref calls it a non-catch.
No thanks, I'll settle for you proving my other point..

So it was never confirmed, which what happens when it is crystal clear?
Thanks for playing.
I didn't say everyone, as there are legit college and nfl rivals. But you comparing a girlfriend beating, drug and alcohol abusing, affluent showboating white dude, to a black guy who smiles and dances when he does well in a game, and pouts when he loses. Not calling you a racist, but you might be thinking a bit like one.
You know more than Mike Carey
Seven hundred dollars? They don't, like, have a TV in them or something?Let's all get on the Cam pity party. Who cares.. but his receivers suck and he couldn't run around like he's use to against a strong defense. Guess he should of worried about about the game then his 700 dollar ugly pants.
Seven hundred dollars? They don't, like, have a TV in them or something?
Who is famous for getting every replay review wrong. Do you watch football?
I can't believe you're going with the argument that the officials are always right. Because a few posts ago, you were arguing that Mike Carey was right, despite him calling it differently.
Calls are incorrect all the time, whether confirmed or overturned. That has nothing to do with this. I'd be posting the same thing had this been incorrectly overturned.
But please, by all means, keep trying. Maybe your third different stance is the charm.
LOL.
I said it wasn't clear. The officials were split, including the retired guy. Not sure how you turned that into me thinking the officials were right.
"Stands" means they didn't have enough for "Confirmed" or "Overturned" means that it wasn't crystal clear.
You mockingly implied that I shouldn't disagree with Mike Carey. That is a dumb argument. Now you are arguing that called as "stands" disagrees with me. It doesn't. It's irrelevant.
NFL officials have gotten catches and drops wrong many a time, so it's hard for me to let a retired officials word carry that much more weight.
Sorry if I didn't clarify--I don't necessarily think Carey was right and the officials at the game were wrong. I think it was a coin flip. I could have seen it going either way but posting some gif on the internetz doesn't prove some point to me.

I don't care what the official said, because I don't know what footage he saw. There are limitations on what they can see on the field. They don't get slow-mo, frame by frame footage, nor do they get every angle we have the luxury of seeing after the fact.
I didn't say the official saw crystal clear footage. I said that what I posted is clear. I hope I've explained this clearly enough for you to comprehend, but I'm willing to try again if necessary.
That's not true at all. None of it.

Is this a joke? Why do people hate Mike Carey? Mike Carey seems to have a growing group of people that strongly dislike him. From my observation, they do not like that he occasionally gets calls incorrect or somethin? I guess he has a thing where 1 in 100 times he might get a call slightly incorrect. I've also heard people think he's trying to agree with Phil Simms or something during the game. But I've seen Mike Pereira be incorrect similarly with no issue. Are people just playing the "the ref must be correct" card just because he's black? I don't know if the sports media is overblowing this, but it felt like people were acting so concerned over nothing.

Rooting for the good ones, i guess.I wasn't speaking about Manziel's at home issues. Nor was I speaking about Newton's. I'm judging each based on what they do on the job.
As for saying I'm thinking like a racist: Fuck that. The fact that you'd use that as part of your argument when I've clearly laid out reasons for disliking him (that match why I dislike some white athletes) and have pointed to other athletes I love who play the same position and aren't white shows you're just desperate to pigeonhole people into fitting your narrative, which weakens your argument to a point where you can't be taken seriously.
Should I clarify again?
You know more than Mike Carey, a retired NFL official who did that for decades.

Rooting for the good ones, i guess.
Should you backtrack again, you mean. Yes, by all means, explain what you meant by:.
You're NOT saying that by disagreeing with him, I'm wrong? Backtracking on your own statement doesn't make it disappear. Besides, you contradict yourself. You say the above. Then you say you don't disagree with Carey. You also say it's too close to call - which is not what Carey said, so you do apparently disagree with him. You're all over the place.
Wasn't a catch at least not enough of one to over turn... be serious.
The fact that they didn't confirm it tells me there wasn't enough to say without a doubt it wasn't a catch or award the challenge.
That tells me that in the event of it being questionable, they stood with the initial call on the field. Doesn't mean that it was 100% not a catch.
All the gifs in the world won't prove that.
