Why do you think microsoft hasn't shown any tech demos for 360?

Velocity Girl doesn't care about demos, she just wants to game.

In all honestly, they probably think their target audience doesn't care. Tech demos make the way cool Xbox design team look like nerds. Mega-hip J Allard wouldn't want that!

Probably because they had real games to show.

The most memorable and stand-out stuff from their presentation was (supposedly) pre-rendered shit, though. And that's just wrong when showing off a brand new system.

Are they not happy with the hardware?

Are they taking a just games approach?

I applaud this approach. Just games. Of course, that's not what people lap up. For reasons that I really don't understand.

So, all of the Microsoft stuff was running well off of Alpha development kits? As the IBM CPU & ATI GPU aren't dont yet?

I guess we'll find out on the show floor.

If Microsoft had decided to show off Xbox2 6 months ago, tech demos would probably have been shown instead.

Half a year before the launch, I don't think gamers want to see how many Master Chiefs can be rendered on a flat plane. :)

Yeah. This has been confirmed by MS in several news articles.

And I initially thought that the backlash EA received for it's "tech demo" commercial of Madden would make everyone shy away from them. I was wronged :lol

Developers working on Xbox360 projects would have to have gotten past the tech demo stage months ago if they want to be ready for a Holiday 2005 launch

I kinda of wish they had shown some tech demos so long as they made it clear that "this is the potential of the xbox 360". Some of the launch software looks sufficiently good enough to qualify as strikingly better looking than the last generation, but Sony is reaping the rewards for showing what is possible in the future. They showed what the next gen is all about.

That's true but that doesn't stop Microsoft from showing something from a few months ago.
