Why does everyone hate Wayne Brady?

It's called the "Bryant Gumbel Effect." :lol

That being said, Bryant Gumbel is pretty damn funny.
 
All black comedians have to joke about race and violence and say 'motherfucker' every couple of lines to be funny. A PG black comedian is not allowed, apparently.

i like wayne brady. I used to watch him on "Whose Line Is It Anyway".

The only thing i like about him in that show that he can made up a good song lyrics and how he execute his performance. That how i recognized him.

I meant today.

EDIT - not that I'm saying I know everything, I'm sure I was generalizing and I'm sure there are a lot of black comedians out there that have good acts, but you can't really tell by seeing HBO specials or anything else.
 
Not to say that isn't a part of it, but Wayne Brady is also cheesy as hell. He's like the black Bob Sagat.

Woah, you may have not have the pulse of the nation but Chappelle allowed him to do the quickest 180 of a black entertainer's career since Janet Jackson's last album. Now all black people love Wayne Brady.
 
People equate Brady's happy-go-lucky comedy routine and his penchant for singing/dancing to a minstrel show or pandering to whites with an inoffensive act, although I doubt he's doing his routine with any of those intentions (haven't seen the Chappelle stuff though so I don't know if he's totally changed his act)

Brady basically played Alonzo from Training Day in that sketch.
 
The singing/dancing things they wrote into "Who's Line..." bored me to death. Every damn episode...and he would act all surprised. The crowd got all excited while I moaned and switched the channel. That show needed more Collin/Ryan and less Brady. *watches UK version* Oh yeah, and less Carey...

there's a lot of truth here. at the same time, i think the gangster lyfe stuff that's popular now in entertainment is more the modern minstrel show

Amen. I wish they gave more songs to Colin, cause that was like the only 'spur of the moment' stuff he can't do well, which just leads to more hilarity (as you can see in some of his hoedowns) :lol
 
We need a DVD collection of Whose Line. I still watch it on fox family all the time.
 
saget. and yeah.. the whole AFHV and Full House thing were basically jokes he was playing. seeing how long he could pull it off for. dude is fucked up.

And little not-so-known fact: Brady didn't want to say "...gonna' have to choke a bitch". He had various lines, but none of them had that punch. So Dave and his writers ended up convincing Brady and lo and behold the aftermath was sweet.

Quoted for truth but, it's a thin line between entertaining and minstrel that all Black actors/celebrities have to weather. It's all in the game.

And why hate on Sinbad? Obviously you people weren't shown this one sex ed video in 6th grade. Sinbad was in a condom costume talking about how you should always use him :lol:lol

i always thought wayne brady was decent, i'm turned off by his sterile approach, but amazed by his creativity...

but that ep of chappelle's was funny as hell
 
Wayne Brady is funny, and the is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It was just so rediculous and unexpected, I couldn't stop laughing when he said it.
