I don't watch his show so I don't know why people hate him. I only know him through parodies.

All I know is that MADtv portrays him as arguably the greatest, most disgraceful Uncle Tom sellout. :lol

Here I thought people hated him because he isn't very funny. Back in the Who's Line days, it seemed like people somehow got their wires crossed and thought "able to improvise a sappy song" equalled "able to be funny." Whenever he was up, the funny left the building. On the british and american shows.
