Why I liked the N64 :)

Oblivion

Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
-not dumb shaped or purple

and had:

Mario 64
Zelda: OoT
Zelda: MM
SSB
Banjo Kazooie
Blast Corps
Starfox 64
Waverace
Pilotwings
Mario Kart 64
Quest 64
Shadowgate 64
Mischief Makers
Aidyn Chronicles: First Mage
Killer Instinct Gold

N64 > SNES >>>>>GC

Your turn :)

Star Fox 64, OoT, MM, Goldeneye, and SSB are enough to make the N64 brilliant in my eyes. Not to mention the other great games it had.

Super Metroid
Super Mario Karts
Zelda ALTTP
FF6
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Earthbound
Super Punch Out
Top Gear
Aladin
Mickey The Magical Quest
Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2
Yoshi's Island
Super Castlevania 4
Castlevania Dracula X
Super Mario World
And the best and less cheap collection game of all time (so far): Super Mario Allstars.

Really, SNES for teh win.

Your list is missing Mario Kart 64 :)

Duly noted :).

Also, for those of you SNES luvrs, I originally wanted to put a "greater than or equal" sign with the N64 and SNES, but alas, it could not work. :(

Your math would still be wrong.

SNES always wins, but

I've had so many gaming party sessions of love with my n64. Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Smash Bros, Mario Party, Mario Tennis and Golf was just so much fun.

In terms of 1st en 2nd party software N64 was the pinnacle of the old nintendo. GC fell right in between the old en new nintendo and as a result of that it has underperformed(I still love it though).

goldeneye and mario kart. mario and zelda when mario and zelda still meant something. two excellent goemon games. three excellent treasure games. at the time n64 seemed like nintendo's fall from grace, but in light of gamecube its merits really stand out. i wonder if revolution will do the same for gc. :x

Super Mario 64 introduced me to 3D
Goldeneye 007 introduced me to four player multiplayer and FPS
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was unbelievable

A lot more obviously.

Yeah. Good times. Good times.

oshitziforgotoactuallyanswerzehthread...

I liked my N64 because:

Super Mario 64
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Paper Mario
StarWars Shadow of the Empire
Banjo Kazooie
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Rush 2
Diddy Kong Racing
Pokemon Snap
Star Fox 64
Doom 64
Starfox 64

I almost cried when I controlled Mario for the first time in a shop... I just knew that I had to go back home with that thing..

it was Japanese and I bought it, well my father did, for ~$900-1,000

What a bunch of lame lists

Shadowgate 64
Mischief Makers
Aidyn Chronicles: First Mage
Killer Instinct Gold
Pokemon Snap
Star Wars Episode I Racer

CAN YOU DIG IT

You need to just back off ya goddamn whippersnapper!

You want more?

Duke Nukem: Zero Hour

Just keep talkin chump, I got more

I hate it! It is one of the reasons why I don't really like Nintendo. WHY does my f'ing PAL N64 neither support RGB nor S-Video? What did those idiots think when they constructed this piece o' crap? The games might be good, but playing with the composite cables hurts my eyes.

F U Nintendo!

I'd like to add Conker's Bad Fur Day. Fun as hell.

N64 was the system I remember most fondly.

Single-player masterpieces:
Super Mario 64
Zelda: OOT
Zelda: MM
Banjo-Kazooie
Paper Mario

But the multiplayer was where it was at...no system greater than N64 when it came to MP
Star Fox 64
Mario Kart 64
Super Smash Bros.
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Waverace 64
Diddy Kong Racing
WCW vs. NW

n64 was my favourite system because of the 4 controller ports and hte amazing multiplayer games.

Golden eye
Mario kart 64
DIddy kong racing
smash bros
Waverace64

all these games had a ton of replayability. For once nintendo's Quality over Quantity worked. Unlike Gamecube's Barely any Quality NO quantity philosophy.

I, too, loved Mario Kart 64. I also loved how much better it was than Diddy Kong Racing (which thankfully, I never owned).

Diddy Kong Racing is just as good if not better than Mario Kart.

Ever since I picked up DKR, my MK64 sessions plummeted

Never would anyone in the UK queue for a video-game but I remember I waited half hour to play Mario 64 for the first time behind some little snot running Mario around in circles with the 'new analogue stick'.

:lol I remember half the people didn't know you could jump in the paintings for levels so when I did it everyone was wowed.
