Why I Will Buy The Retard Pack

From whats been said here the pricing scheme in Europe doesn't seem as bad as it does in the US.

Doesn't it bother you though that all of the games on the retard pack console are going to load slower than a normal Xbox 360? Doesn't it bother you that you're going to have to use the lowest quality video cables to play your expensive high end game console? If you add better video cables to the price of the console along with the memory card aren't you almost at the price of the premium console anyway? Retard pack really makes no sense in the US cause it's the difference in price of 1 single Xbox 360 game.

I really don't think the Retard pack limits Xbox Live use that much though. You'll still be able to download some content and you'll be able to play other gamers online. The only place the retard pack limits you in the immediate future is you probably won't be able to download game demos and game trailers.

Here's the bare minimum checklist to go through before buying Core:

1) I will not buy an HDTV in the next five years.
2) I will not need an s-video cable for this system, ever.
3) I can definitely get by with only one memory card.
4) I don't care about backwards compatibility, at all.
5) I don't mind if my load times are longer.
6) Live, DLC, Arcade aren't big deals to me (see 3).
7) I'm fucking retarded (just kidding).

Wait, the Re...er...Core pack doesn't even include S-Video? WTF?

I would think that S-Video would be prolific enough to include that in the Retard Pack.

I'm buying a core unit at GameRush. Not for me though,I've already got a Premium one pre ordered at GameStop. The core console is for a friend. I know the dip shit is once again going to be running around looking for a new next gen. console at the last minute so he'll be able to thank me later. Even if he doesn't buy it its not a big deal,I'l unload it to another one of my stupid neighbers who doesn't know any better.:)

The kind of person that buys a Core System can probably just get by with one memory card and doesn't own an HDTV.

that pretty much match me exactly... although i'm gonna wait till i know more about too human, since that's the main reason i'll buy the console.

How many people really needed multiple memory cards before? I never did. Just delete shit when it gets old.....quit kidding yourself that you're going to replay that 2-year-old game that's been sitting on your shelf for months.

Hell, I forgot that most interlaced 4:3 TVs have component inputs now (and they do make a difference...my upstairs TV is a 27" WEGA and component definitely beats s-video).

So really, if you are going to buy any TV at all in the next 5 years, you might want component video.

Depends which system we're dealing with. I had 3-4 for the original Playstation, but only one for PS2.

Hey guys, check out the title of the thread now.

I would consider that an official mod endorsement of the term

Retard Pack

Kool-Aid Drinkers Am 0wned.

I sure as hell did, like 4 memory cards when it came to dealing with the DreamCast. Games like Jet Grind Radio where you could download your own jpegs with the modem and then save them to the memory card for use as sprays for the game took up a ton ofspace on the cards. I guess it doesn't help that I own like 80 DC games too.:b

I love this. Xbots no longer make fun of Sony or Nintendo fans. They're just killing each other now!
Edit:
Last I can remember a split like this is GBA vs SP stuff, and the SP won out for clear reasons.

You could e-mail game saves to yourself on Dreamcast....meaning you have virtually unlimited storage space on the system. No excuse for buying multiple VMUs there.

PSX seems about the same to me as PS2 -- by the time the card gets close to full, there's a bunch of stuff on there that you know you'll never bother with again, and you can delete it.

Border-yeah I use to do tat all the time. But then every once in awhile my ISP would screw that up and I'd get corrupt attchments. This happened with 2 other ISPs as a matter of fact,I lost some damn good saves because of this problem. Which is why I said screw it and bought more of those damn memory cards. Looking back now-I'm glad I have them though, since I have lots of great porn pictures to use in JGR. Ahuauauauauauauauaua.

Shit dude, I've been playing PGR2 on and off for two years.

I think Xbox 360 should use Gmail storage. :lol That would make MS happy considering how much they love Google.

Who's an Xbot anyway?

I have no alliance to ANY manufacturer.

EVER.

3Dfx f'ed up - I jumped ship.

Nintendo isn't doing all that hot, and I have been saying they should go the way of Sega.

PS2 pissed me off with its BS load times, so I got rid of it while it was worth something. The exclusives really didn't wow me at the time either - so I figured I could feed my gaming habit better by getting rid of it (since most of the games I cared about came out on both Xbox and PS2). I would like to play God of War, but I'm not buying a PS2 for one game and PS3 is backwards compatible without having to have an accessory.

Give me what I think is the best, and I will buy it.

Gamecube, while a cool little peice of hardware, is not that great because of *gasp* software support. Sony has them beat in spades there and even MS for that matter.

Anyway, I only know of a few true Xbots here so far. People who have an undying allegiance to a company they don't work for are strange.

And believe me, as much as I like my Xbox - MS pisses me off plenty. It's easy, I'm a Windows Developer.

Google needs to write their own OS and make their own console and kick the fucking shit out of M$.

The Core pack is bullshit. All the retailers will be bundling Premium packs. Good luck finding a Core pack in November....

LOL I told the guy at EB today when I was cancelling my 180 pre-order about the Retard Pack
