Why is Hillary guaranteed to win?

More emails.

Some on GAF say no one cares but idk.

She has backed herself into a corner claiming there are zero classified docs.

The 2 they found already where not apparently classified as classified at the time... But shouldn't you kind of know as Secretary of State what info should be classified and not left on your private server?

And if there are no more, what exactly has she been doing as secretary? It's like if I went to my web developer and said give me all the development related emails and he said "all I have is these dank memes"

As Secretary, Clinton had information marked classified delivered to her in hard copy or other secure means, the same way Condoleeza Rice did as the latter essentially did not use email.

I don't think it's the role of the SOS to make determinations on the level of classification of documents, there are departmental staff who do so. The classification they (State) determine for documents may differ from what the intelligence community considers appropriate. From my understanding which classification supersedes depends upon where information was derived.

The amount of e-mails forwarded to her is simply a lot. There is a reason there is a process that actually "classifies" them (after the fact - time it takes - unknown). It's not Hillary's job to go through each e-mail she gets, many of which she probably didn't even read and classify it based on her own criteria. That's someone else's job past her.

I'm pretty sure the State Department is(will) overhauling the whole process so that this doesn't happen again. It's more partisan politics than anything. The issue does raise the importance of overhauling the current modus-operandi. That's the positive net gain. Incrimination however...partisanship.

Umm but isn't the justice department controlled by Obama? I don't think she is going to be indicted, I think this is going to give whomever her opponent is lots of ammo to attack.

Incase you haven't noticed establishment candidates are taking a beating this election. There is allot of distrust currently (mostly on the right side) of professional politicians.

What is she going to say when pressed on this in an actual debate? Another lame snapchat joke?

Edit: I guess we will see how serious this is if Biden announces this week :p

Don't forget Whitewater.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/la-na-hillary-clinton-generations-20150812-story.html

Democratic pollster Celinda Lake has been asking voters how much they trust Hillary Rodham Clinton for more than two decades. So when she recently asked a group of 10 young people about the issue, her questions naturally turned to Whitewater, the Arkansas land deal turned White House scandal of the 1990s.

Instead of the heated answers the topic once invited, the focus group responded with confused silence.

“Is that a new type of vodka?” one person finally offered.

This time 8 years ago, she was also "guaranteed" to win too lol

Basically there are no guarantees... there's still to much time left for things to drastically change.

Because she's the candidate America deserves. Her candidacy epitomizes apathy.

Obama had the most revered Democrat of the last 40 years among the liberal wing (Ted Kennedy) and the Majority Leader (Harry Reid) telling him to run, along with a network of politicos around the country.

And oh yeah, actual support beyond white liberal males.

Those DoJ investigations into places like Ferguson? Gone.
Active institutional support for gay rights replaced by resistance.
Active institutional support for trans rights replaced by outright hostility.
Active institutional support for reproductive rights replaced by outright hostility.
Active support for progressive redistribution replaced by support for policies that widen inequality.
A foreign policy team that's made deals with Cuba and Iran replaced by the same people that invaded Iraq.
Active institutional support for Obamacare replaced with a blank check to the GOP who controls both houses.

Do you want to time warp back to 2002? Because I sure don't.

A) Both the Democrats and GOP in the '60s/'70s had mixed ideology. Nixon was actually very liberal on many issue compared to today's GOP.
B) Getting arch-conservative GOP picks on the SC for 30+ years is a fucking disaster.
C) Funding for things like PP can get cut off easily now.

2002? You're going back to 1952 with some of the guys running on the GOP side.

Scott Walker would take you back to 1852 in terms of labor rights.

This sentiment has been bandied about a lot on this board - that it is a foregone conclusion that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States. Why? Why is she guaranteed to win?

Please explain to this layman why her winning is an inevitability.

She's not guaranteed and it's a dumb mindset because it reinforces people being lazy and not voting, and then SHOCK the other candidate wins.

So does the current POTUS since election, and mentions it at every State of the Union Address.....

Surprise... can't pass it with the GOP.

Obama was able to let the Bush tax cuts expire and thus raise taxes.

I can't see Sanders getting anything passed with congress. There are probably tea party members who would support some of his corporate welfare cuts, but GOP leadership wouldn't bring them to a vote. Sanders, like Ron Paul, is a pipe dream candidate for people who don't understand (or care) how politics work.

I like Sanders but a 75yo socialist isn't going to become president.

Actually, she was specifically authorized by Obama executive order to categorize info she came across as classified.

Turns out the email server was not even in her house, it was located in Colorado at some "mom and pop" network company?

She is so fucked.

That's my problem with it. 30,000 emails but they're all personal about weddings, yoga, etc? What the heck are you doing on our time? Of course the flip-side is that she was lying and there's all sorts of classified stuff, which is pretty bad news for her too.

And can wiping the server be anything other than an attempt to cover one's tracks? Was she afraid embarrassing personal messages would get out, or afraid some serious security issues would be discovered? Either way, regardless of the outcome, it's creating some big trust issues for me. Joking about snapchat automatically deleting messages doesn't help either, nor does her saying stuff like "what do you mean wipe? like with a cloth?" Like she's saying "I don't understand teh computerz. I'm only Secretary of State."

"I don't know how it works digitally at all," - Clinton

So I just went ahead and set up my own mail server!

This is the person you want running the country. She is either lying her ass off or not qualified.

This line of reasoning doesn't make particular sense.

If the shedevil wanted to for some bizarre reason deliberately mishandle information marked classified she could have used a state.gov email ostensibly and still created an external email not subject to FOIA requests.

If the argument is she's hiding a secret lesbian relationship with Huma Abedin in personal emails, that's irrelevant to FOIA requests.

I mean alternatively she was so devious as to set up this account to orchestrate Benghazi!!! and brazen enough to ignore that her emails could be subject to FOIA requests and archiving, and that any email sent to a state.gov email would be archived via their systems. The Fair and Balanced position I'm assuming.

Lost in all this is that the primary [initial] purpose of all of this was essentially preservation of records for FOIA requests. And that when State was ordered to release these emails they did not release anything that wasn't suitable for release.

The State Department maintains that there were no emails marked classified and still does not concur with the IGIC that they should be now.

Politicians that lie? I'm appalled and disgusted!
