There's a huge difference between trigger warnings for rape and trigger warnings for stuff like meat, straight couples, or the word "whore".

Some warnings may be absurd, but people who universally hate trigger warnings are assholes.

While I get the point of the video, I find the guy extremely annoying and that is distracting me.

"Talking about your feelings/problems is annoying" is a pretty common sentiment, and quite honestly anyone who feels that way is a piece of shit.

Is there really a worthwhile distinction? In both cases you openly make fun of the subject and therefore victims to some extent.

If that's the case I guess 'no homo' falls in the homophobic pun/comment category instead of the homophobic joke category too, whatever that means.

Video in the op is of course not talking about this at all, but more challenging the stereotype that all boys / men want sex all the time and cannot be abused. Great video, but it's gonna be a long road ahead to get people to really believe the message.

thanks for the link collection, the one I quoted is my favourite one.
usually when boys get raped by women the reactions here are "nice", "yeah buddy" or "sucks to be him", but in this case, where the rapist is not attractive, the reactions are quite different.

but please notice, as they are -again- not the same reactions you'd see for a male rapist. for a male rapist it would be "kill him" or "cut off his dick", but in this case here, the aggression ist not aimed at the crime, but the appearance of the female rapist. the reactions are "ewww" or "nope".

Homophobia is very uncool in society at the moment. When joking about male rape becomes taboo across the board they probably won't joke about it and instead make jokes at some other victimised group's expense.

In that thread, at least they probably don't think of getting oral sex against their will as rape.

Yuh, especially when he listed Abu Ghraib Prison along side Get Him to the Greek. There were other hints as it went along too ("that i trusted", "and the fear" etc)
