I don't think its a direct attack on Bob Dylan the person or artist, as it is on the pop/media wonder boy he was. Stuff like Rolling Stone portrayed him like a god. The media circus wasn't Dylan's fault, but it still was a circus none-the-less.

I've been going through "Wouldn't You Miss Me?" as of late, and it's really good. Now if you absolutely despise Pink Floyd's earlier stuff (especially Piper) I can see you not liking Syd's stuff. But I find it to be fucking great.

A lot of people thought Dylan sold out by being in that bizarre Victoriai's Secret commercial. Also his conversion to born again Christianity and subsequent Christian album turned off a lot of his original audience, but hell that was like 5 Dylan cycles ago.

1) I'm pretty sure some are misinterpreting the intent of the song, as my last post pointed out.

2) Dylan is a great songwriter, probably one of the best we know of in his genre of music - but he's a pretty heinous singer.

3) Just because you don't know who Sid Barret is, does that mean he should automatically be deemed insignificant and his opinion discredited? Exactly who are you?
