Didn't Eva Longoria of all people front the money when they ran into financial trouble? She straight up saved the movie and the entire franchise.

Cool.

Lucile ball fronted the money to reshoot the Star Trek pilot. So she saved Star Trek.

John Wick Is the last great action movie, they say they don't make em like they used to but they did. Once and it is Babayega.

Change my mind.

First one was awesome and the best but that revisit scene top down with the dragon's breath shotgun, hot damn that's some creative and entertaining action. Top shelf scene. I wish it was a video game done like for a major mission. Give me a contra-esque game of Wick e.g. genre change up each mission and really get into fun action game in a variety of ways/mechanics/controls.

There are lots of great action movies, especially coming from Asian markets (this has always been the case).

You just don't watch them.

A feature length making of? Sounds awesome.

The first was an incredible movie. I don't think it needed any sequels, but I've watched them all and enjoyed. I still however like to think of the first as being in its own bubble. Such a good revenge film.

Distinct lack of information in this post to back up your claims.
There are great movies coming out of Hong Kong and Asian cinema. But you've got to keep yourself up to date. You won't see most of them om NF. Lots of great smaller action movies from all over the world.

Keep an eye on City on Fire for everything (Asian) action cinema.

Nothing better than watching little Asian midgets, Bruce Lee folks. When I was stationed in Japan I had a gent attack me in Kyoto, for being in a place where whitey wasn't allowed apparently.

It was one of them and then many. I swear fists were coming out of my shirt at me. They were attached to me like little gremlins I couldn't shake. Coming out of pockets punching me and shit. I mean these little fuckers were all over me like white on rice, and a paper plate in a snow storm.

Amazing evening.

Also features the best one shot action scene in cinematic history

Hey, look, someone is wrong on the internet!

Thanks for sharing, will watch!

Since John Wick 2 the movies have been getting worse and worse, the franchise's world more idiotically complicated and the plot dumber and dumber. I almost fell asleep in the last one, aside from the fact that Keanu obviously can't do his own stunts well enough anymore due to age the action was so fucking boring, it was like playing a videogame where you just keep killing waves of enemies

John wick, Die Hard, Con Air. There's hundreds of action movies better than that trash
You clearly never even read what I wrote.

And I'm willing to bet you haven't even seen the movie either.

I said it has the best ONE SHOT action sequence. Do you know what a one shot is?

"A one-shot in a movie is a scene filmed in one continuous take without any cuts, so the action flows smoothly without interruption."

John Wick, Die Hard and Con-Air don't even have a one shot scene (John Wick 4 does, the shotgun scene)

Extraction 2 has an uninterrupted 21-minute action scene that's up there with the most impressive action scenes out there. In fact better than just about all of them. Amazing practical work and real stunts too. Watch it.

I said movies, not scenes in shit movies. Unless you are suggesting Extraction 2 is a better action movie than the OG John Wick

Hey, look, someone else is wrong on the internet!

Every movie in the franchise has something great. I love 2's BJJ stuff. 3's hotel siege, dog stunts and vehicle stunts are fucking fantastic and 4 has very innovative setpieces.

Also LOL at considering John Wick's video game similarities a weakness. That's the premise of the whole fucking franchise. 1 has a literal boss fight in the rain.

The first film is a masterpiece, the rest are just so so movies with some decent action.

Guns n Roses and Terminator 2.

Try and top that combo with some fast and furious nonsense.
Unfortunately, my post wasn't necessarily meant as a compliment. I think putting the past on a pedestal leads to it's own set of problems, as the guy who enjoys the newer stuff has a more open minded, higher percent chance of giving older stuff a listen/watch as much as he would newer stuff, but that's much less likely (on average) to happen the other way around.

No offense taken.

Ill watch anything decent and Pop it in my classics list regardless of age. Stuff like Nobody, John Wick, some if the MI movies and The Crank make the cut. Stuff like Extraction and the FF franchise does not.

Entirely subjective of course.

Rare that Netflix garbage makes the cut though.

The Raid >>> John Wick

2 different kind of action movies.

John wick is hand to hand combat/gun-fu

Extraction 2 is more large scale action.

What I will say is this… There's movies that do hand to hand combat better than John Wick. Like The Raid.

While there's nothing that nailed balls to the wall action like extraction 2 did in that sequence

The Raid was made before John Wick. So my point still stands.

On your second point, The Matrix has several scenes this take a dump on that movie you are championing.

No it doesn't.

Still betting you haven't seen it

I'll stand by original statement.

Name me a better Western action movie that released after John Wick.

I'm on the side of John Wick being the best one and the only great one. The rest, especially the last one, were pretentious and stupid. Like Equilibrium on steroids.
