yeah cause we all know eminem tried his best and lost to sway. eminem was in the rap olympics...sway prolly couldnt even beat the losers on 106 and park's freestyle battle.

dude. he still lost to sway. EMINEM, mr. king shit, mr. 8 mile himself, lost to a fucking MTV REPORTER who hasn't done SHIT in the industry. And anyone that's really listened to eminem freestyle (and I have, profusely) will readily acknowledge that he would get owned by a lot of people-- namely ludacris, nas, mos def...the list goes on. I fuckin' hate 'cris, but he could still own eminem in a freestyle battle, hands down.

And eminem destroyed Benzino. Whooo. Benzino. I'm impressed. Let's look at all the 'rappers' eminem has supposedly destroyed:
-Ja Rule
-Benzino
-Canabis
-Whitey Ford
-ICP

Hardly impressive, no?

I like eminem, and like I said, he's an amazing lyricist when he wants to be. But he's not a freestyle 'god' as everyone wants him to be, and he's never legitimately beefed with anyone who could even come close to him, so saying he's the best battle rapper is stupid. That's like saying the US has the best military in the world because we wiped the floor with Mexicos.

That's what pisses me off with eminem. If he would just put out one amazing album, that's as good as he's capable of doing, I'd sing his praises for all eternity. But he doesn't... he fucks around and doesn't do shit half the time. I don't think he's made his own "chronic" album, which is to say, his masterpiece, or his stillmatic. Because of it, he's still just overrated in my book.

Will Smith: Lemonade?
Eminem: Please!
Will Smith: I made it just for you!
Eminem: You are my best friend!

Damn, I'm slipping. It took me so long to get the reference.

So let me get this straight. Wil Smith has his biggest hits written by SOMEONE ELSE and he supposedly is a better rapper than Eminem?
Well he has better writers than Eminem. Generally the public is stupid so they'll think he wrote them. I have shaky logic :)

I don't believe that Eminem is the best rapper so does that mean I'm dissing him? To me Cube was expressing a opinion.

The industry is scared of Eminem- why didn't anyone diss him after the racist tapes? Let the whole debate over his age and what he meant etc be left alone. Some reckless rapper should of gone after his arse. I mean Mos Def gets being accused of being racist towards whites all the time yet he kept quiet. Nas does Coon Picnic yet he keeps quiet about Eminem?

Eminem has become comfortable he is going through a mid-career slump if he is one of the 'great's like Jay-Z or Nas his next album should deliver.

yeah ok i never said he is some freestyle god. i know he could lose to tons of people. but please.....if he really wanted to...if he really cared u think he would let sway beat him? i mean for petes sake thats the problem with eminem right now...he is lazy and uninspired. the only subjects that seem to move him is being accused of being racist and his children. i doubt he cares about battling sway. take a younger em coming up the ranks, where every single battle to him was huge and then u would see. and i know he hasnt made his classic...i never said he did. the only legit rapper he wants to beef with is bis but bis isnt responding back. and he is overrated in terms of being best rapper ever but thats usually by casual fans who only know eminem...he is my fav rapper but thats based on me listening to tons of his stuff and knowing that he is easily one of the best.

He has a few nice songs, but I think it was his retirement that blew him up to be greater than what he was. I mean, when someone leaves the rap game so suddenly it's usually because of death. He used that to gain more fame.

reasonable doubt, blueprint, and the black album alone classify jay z as a great. and his ungodly flow.

The funny thing is I have never really liked Jay-Z... I just don't feel what he is saying, nor do I like his style... I am not hating, or saying he isn't great (God knows enough people think so) just he doesn't jive with me

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
I've started to appreciate Jay-Z more. I couldn't get into his stuff at all before.

And as much as Will Smith seems like a decent corporate entity in interviews and such, the Eminem of a few years ago seemed far more talented.

Ice Cube a few, few years before that was better than both of them but has been awful for years.

This thread is about a bunch of has-beens, musically :)

why do you keep bringing this up? Are you talking about when Sway did that MTV special on Eminem and interviewd him? They were fucking around thats why Sway "beat" him. It was all just for shits and giggles. I don't like Eminem any more than the next guy, but using that against him is like saying some little disadvantaged kid that might happen to make a basket over Shaq in a charity game could make it in the NBA.

I saw the Will Smith video on MTV Base the other night here in the UK. Was whack.

Yeah man. I just thought it was a typical rap video with big ass chicks and then I see Will.

:(

I've been jerking off to a Will Smith video?!

...still scars me to this day.

I used to like Will2k, only because of the Clash sample. I wondered why no one had used it before. But how fast that sample is, I knew it would have to be a pop song to use it.

"And we gonna party like it's 19...Hold up it is"

FUCK OFF AND DIE A PAINFULL AND LONG DEATH! :lol

It was not the new Millennium, it was in 2001. That made me even more bitter when I heard or tought of

"A new Millennium, excuse me, Willennium!"

And when he used some sampling that I heard in the movie Big (with Tom Hanks) and in the song Fast Love by George Michael for the theme song of Men In Black. To redeem yourself and avoid the materialisation of my above statement, you must find out where it was from originally. NOW. :lol

He will come back at Will... I know that... now if it was someone like Nas or Jay-z he'd let it slide... :lol

I remember this comic strip, it was Will Smith in a studio, and he said, handing a compact disc to a technician:

"Here are three hundred words I said. Put a couple of them in a random order and add a generic dance beat, it will be a hit anyway."
