LEBANON, Ohio - Michelle Wie is three wins away from an invitation to the Masters.

The 15-year-old from Hawaii birdied three of the final five holes and beat Jim Renner, 3 and 1, in her second match of the day to advance Thursday to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur Public Links.

Wie, the first female to qualify for a men’s USGA championship, earlier won 6 and 5 over C.D. Hockersmith.

My guess is no, I think the pressure will get to her. I wouldn't call it choking though, I mean she is only 15. And this pressure will be nothing compared to the attention she will get next year if she makes the Masters.

How about this question, if women are allowed to play on the PGA tour should men also be allowed to play on the LPGA?

Good question, I dont think so, I mean only the cream of the crop of woman can hang with the men, but any of the men could(IMO) could beat the women...
Better question, If she makes the master should women beable to get a member ship at Augusta.

Not like she lost to a nobody, this guy was in the semi finals last year. And she beat some real good players to get here.

I think winning a match play event is more impressive than a stroke play event. You have to be golfing your ball well every round.

I'd agree with that. The LPGA playing field is ultra weak. I think the LPGA Championship a couple weeks back proved that, since the top 10 was dominated by teenage amateurs. Now, I've been the biggest fan of Wie, but it really tells you something about the LPGA when a professional major championship is controlled by amateurs.
