windows desktop programs to make it look pretty?

just did a fresh XP install and i want my desktop to look all pretty. what do you guys suggest?

i should have mentioned in my first post that i dont want it to be a resource hog. if it means its gonna take longer for my computer to boot up i probably dont want it.

how is astonshell in that regard?

I just converted to Aston based on this thread... it scared the hell out of me at first, but I got it worked out eventually. :lol Using the Insignia theme right now, very nice..

pxleyes wins the thread. It's a modified theme file that allows non-MS themes/visual styles without 3rd party progs. That's how I use different VSs.

StyleXP is fine for me, and it doesn't use a lot of resources (a grand total of 996k)

Crazy ones like aston never let you customize them enough. They change everything, but only to exactly what the designer had in mind (usually with a few dumb ideas and 7 things you don't use)

Just a hacket UXTheme.dll, like pxleyes posted.



Uses the exact same system as Windows does, so no additional resources you would have used anyways.
