Hi guys I've recently begun to have a prob with wmp and I can;t for the life of me fix it. It seems that whenever I try to view any type of video file through wmp 10 the program crashes. That wouldn't be a problem seeing as how I use zoom player for my playback needs but now whenever a website goes to popup video in a wmp applet it crasheds my freakin browser!! need some help here. any suggestions? FOr some reason wmp just stopped workin, it's beging to get very annoying.

i had a similiar problem on my old PC, but it would happen with videos and mp3s.

you can try removing WMP and reinstalling (go to Add/Remove programs, then click Windows Components). It didn't work for me, but it seemed to have some success with other people.

Eventually, the problem went away for me, which leads me to believe something windows update got it fixed. People were suggesting to me that I was infected with some virus/worm (Can't remember the name. It was the one that German kid got arrested for recently), and to run the check at Microsoft.com for it.

Hope this helps man. I was pulling my frikkin hair out with this.

nope. firefox and even opera give me the same prob. it just crashes any browser I use.

unfortunately xp doesn't let you remove wmp 10. great little thing I just found out!!


oops scratch that....just did it. hmmm it wouldn't do it before though.
