Now in stock. I've ordered from NCSX - while they are a bit expensive, but I find them very friendly and reliable for past 6+ years. Anyhow, they are saying that it's in stock and will ship out today (one day earlier than expected Mar.24 shipment), which I will be getting tomorrow since I'm in NYC. (I think NCSX is located in Queens, so I have a good chance of getting it on next day even by ground shipping)
Anyhow... Things that I've gathered from other sites.
- They fixed a lot of basic motions - that now dribbling is harder. Ball handling is a quite a bit different - that it doesn't "stick" to your player like it used to - it bounces around and new ball traping motion, while beautiful to look at, is much tougher.
- Also, the turning of the players are more fluid - but because of new ball physics, it's more realistic yet it will take some time to get used to.
- Goalie AI is down a bit compared to "Yassin" like ones in original 8. I'm not sure of how smart the goalies were in 8Inter and PES4... but it's a good news.
- Also players are a bit slower - but ball speed is much faster. (Perhaps it's feeling that way because balls are much faster now?)
- Notable new motions are sliding pass when the balance is off, new heading position fights that people would now try to head the ball even from behind, Elacico (sp? - Ronaldinho's flip-flap technique) for people with high dribble skills (not everyone), which could make the defender to fall down if their body balance is low, much smoother shooting motion, and outside passing motion is now mostly fixed.
- R1 Lobbing shot projectory is much lower, so it's not useful in this game as much as it was in original 8. I'm kinda convinced that L1 lobbing shot is still pretty much intact.
- 00 cross trajectory is much lower - so that heading is a bit difficult than WE8. There are quite a few mixed feelings about heading accuracy issue - but it's being said that it's more balanced out. 0 cross is now more effective from a far. Instead of frequent diving headder, Bally shoot is activated much more frequently.
- Online versus play is doable by having JP PS2 with BB unit, I think. However, you have to buy each league separately, and for some strange reason, Korean National Team is not usable - although I doubt anyone would really care here.
I'm not sure of online aespect of the game, and how it plays out - but reviews are saying that it's quite good. (Shame on you, Konami USA!!!)
- Mid-range shots are a lot more powerful and faster than original 8. (some say it's quite scary.
) I am all for this, because I LOVE Mid Range shots from a far. When I made one even by mistake - it made my day.
- Robben still sucks. (Actually, I think his stats are even lower than original 8, which is a crime...) - but C. Ronaldo is one of the most improved compared to original 8. (I think it's similar to WE8 International version) His long pass accuracy is now in 80's (Ha!), and He now has dribble keeping special attribute. I'm not sure why they gave him (He's a good player, no doubt about it) such good stats, while giving Robben pretty much none. Neville Brothers are still in deep shit, Ronaldo didn't change anything from WE8, Crespo down a bit, Del Piero is now a mediocre player.
.... so on and on. A lot of players didn't even change a bit - such as Ballack.

These pages used to have some stats - I'm not sure whether the image link is still alive or whatnot... but the first one had 180+ images, so it will take LONG LONG time to load up even in T1 at work... and if it comes up as an xbox, then, right-click and show-image on the x's. (It worked for me few days ago.)
- Rosters are still not up to date - it's like 2004 winter. (2005 season, my ass, konami!!)
Gravesen is still in Everton not in RM, etc etc. Good news is, English patch will be available pretty quick, because they can pretty much use 90%+ of previous player names in WE8 JP. I hear people are already working on option files.
- It's not known that whether you can even used this updated option files or your ML team online. It's unlikely. (Hope they will fix it on WE9 and WE NEED Online here in USA!)
Tomorrow can't come fast enough...
