No. It's one of the main series that inspired modern shounen while borrowing tropes from sentai. If you don't like shounen, you most likely wouldn't like it.

It's sentai + Dragon Ball + Fist of the North Star, but with manliness replaced with androgyny.
I never liked Saint Seiya. It was a big deal in Mexico to the generation before mine, but I could never get into it.

Remember, Saint Seiya doujin also helped to popularize the term 'yaoi'. I mean, the kids used to call that 'shonen-ai'.

I was just wondering what Umakoshi was up to. Love his work; will watch this new Saint Seiya thing for the style if nothing else.

They haven't specified anything other than the fact that it features all-new characters and that the protagonist is named Kouga, but they made a point to say that you can watch it and enjoy it without having seen any previous SS show.

This weeks episode was pretty solid, although not a patch on the last couple of super outings. Unlike last weeks episode there wasn't anything memorable about the cinematography or editing, it's above average but nothing particularly special.
This particular story is interesting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it's interesting to see Natsume interact with his friends in a way that isn't identical to every other episode. I mean, it's very predicable and you know how each scene is going to play out but it's kind of fun. However, it also displays how limited Natsume is as a character. He doesn't get angry, or direct, or confrontational, or develop. He's kind of a flat quiet nice-guy. I mean, they've literally never drawn Natsume displaying any of these emotions, which shows that he isn't really that fleshed out as a human being. Luckily that doesn't matter so much when the series is a bunch of one-off stories and the most interesting interactions are generally between youkai.

Yes, but the CG here does look far less offensive. That's not saying it looks good, but it doesn't stick out quite as badly as it could.

I never watched Saint Seiya and I have not the desire to change it. But the spring season looks fantastic.
Looks pretty awful to me in some shots. I guess it's not PS2-bad, but pretty close. And I don't see any shots that look as good as the good 2D ones in Berserk.
