May as well just put the thread up right now. I mean, we're less than 100 posts away from 20k anyways.

Feels like basement jokes lost their luster after the manga came through.

Look they found the basement, Guts got off the boat and Akagi is about to beat Washizu. All the jokes are ending at the same time, like when The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy XV came out a month apart

Gabriel Dropout End

I wish I liked this series more. Gabriel's "fallen angel" nature just never really comes out. Her slovenly nature doesn't shine through at all. She doesn't speak or act like she's obsessed with video games. This final episode at least plays up her two faced nature, but the show just continues to feel super mild even with good VA work, high quality funny faces, and animation to actually back up its slap stick. The material itself just feels ponderously slow even for light comedy, and there's little personality, wit, or charm to the jokes or characters. The end note sort of pushes for a theme about friendship, but it doesn't even feel like the people working on this show thought it was worth pretending that was a thing that mattered. Safe. Lame. Not really worth remembering at all.

I mean the pushing the theme for friendship was literally just that. Just bullshitting much like she did at the beginning of the episode.

I don't think anyone should be watching that terrible, sub-VHS rip of G Gundam in 2017. There's no need to experience the series in such awful quality. The BD (hopefully) isn't too far out for the US.

Kirakira Precure A La Mode 04
No new Precure this episode but a good focus on team building for the existing Precure. It still amazes me how they managed to screw up their first attempt baking puffed pastry.

Kemono Friends 06
Kaban's ingenuity continues as she resolves year old conflicts and invents the game of soccer.

I don't even think you replied to my post about A Silent Voice. Who cares what you think anymore. :(

Hypothetically, if Amazon somehow got every single show you planned on watching in a given season (say 8-10 shows), would you subscribe to Anime Strike for that season?

In that case I would, but I also already have a prime account. It helps that I'm interested in a couple things in their back catalogue (namely Great Passage & Scum's Wish). I might give it a try this season based off of what's been listed/speculated in this thread for their Spring line-up.

Maturity, bitches.
Alright AnimeGAF, I need some GIFs for the upcoming Magic the Gathering thread. Specifically, Yu-Gi-Oh GIFs, since the upcoming set has an Egyptian theme. I want the following:
* In the last opening of the first series, the part where it shows Yugi, then it transitions to Atem on a throne, then a shakey close-up of him.
* Someone going "Oh no!"
* Something related to Egyptian god cards.

I'd appreciate the help.

The first one is possible since you give us an idea where to source the gif. The other two would require us to watch the whole of Yu-Gi-Oh just to find something that matches the criteria. Would help if you linked to a YouTube clip or even just listed an episode with a timestamp or something.

In addition to Saekano S2 due to their noitamina partnership, Amazon also will have exclusive streaming rights to Rage of Bahamut Virgin Soul and possibly Sakura Quest as well.

Fuuu....

Not exactly anime related, but... it looks like I'll be moving to Japan for a bit in late July. I'll need to remind myself not to waste
too much of
my money on figures and Blu-Rays when I get there! I've never been there before, so I'm pretty excited to head there and start working.

i don't even think i need to say this but i wasn't really expecting gab-chan to be so crap compared to himouto, the thing it evoked the most and that i was hoping for

angel/demon stuff generally went nowhere

almost no chemistry with main cast and especially nothing with gab-chan and, like, basically anyone else

just eh all around

I still don't get why you guys are interested in sakura quest.

it looks like one of those throw away anime series that towns sometimes band together to make to advertise areas o_O

Which ones?

gah I am blanking on the series now....

but I know there was at least that one series that they made that made the regions, or counties, or cities into anime girls giving tours of their areas.

*digs around for a bit*

edit: I can't find the series I am thinking of...
just stuff dealing with tech terms, cars, and IT stuff

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2011-06-29/constitution-girls-book-turns-law-into-moe-girls

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/int...and-toyotas-turn-moe-for-bishoujo-game/.78676

I mean obviously sakura quest doesn't go that far, but it looks like a generic throw away show that doesn't seem to have any notable talent behind it so I don't get at all why people seem to care o_O

also if anyone can remember the anime where they turned regions, or cities into anime girls to promote the areas let me know because it is driving me crazy...

Sounds about right.

Something like

Koitabi: True Tours Nanto
The Four Seasons
Toyama Kankou Anime Project
Neon The Animation
Onsen Yousei Hakone-chan
Francesca

maybe? :p

those are indeed the type of shows I was talking about... alas the one I was thinking about doesn't seem to be on that list either.

*sigh* I hate when there is something I know deep down I know, but i can't bring it to the surface :/

but yeah sakura quest feels like a cross between those, and parks and rec :p

either way I just don't get the hype in this thread for it.
granted I suppose there aren't many 4-5 girls in a club shows this season. so perhaps that is why *shrugs*

oh well it's bed time for me, I guess I will likely wake up to a fresh thread.
and get to see that I once again fail to make the wall of shame lol.

Sakura Quest 1

Well I don't know what I expected. I suppose a show that was longer than a couple of minutes, but fair play to them, the show did deliver on the title.

So basically our hero wakes up one day with a strong urge to find some sakura (or cherry blossom to you and I) (seriously, why do subtitles not translate certain words? You're not actually being clever when you don't do your job of translating thing).

So they look out of their window and happen to spot a tree in full bloom just outside. They fist pump the air, say "get in" and the show ends with them leaving the house. The Sakura Quest was over. Cue the ED.

All in all, the show with the least amount of disappointing moments this year so far. Sure it was less than five minutes long and one episode, but sometimes that's all you need.

BTW, this review contained spoilers.

Focusing on protagonists struggling to find a job and figure out what they want to do with their lives is attractive for people who are going or have gone through a similar period in their post-high school or college lives.
