What's the best way to do the first episode of the second season?
By rehashing everything of the first season for those who can't remember what happened. That was as fun as you expect it would be.
I sometimes (often) feel like we're the biggest Code:Breaker fansite on the internet.AKU episodes 1-13
10/10 Akus, strongly recommend to y'alls who haven't watched it yet.
Finally; just saw.And Crunchyroll's final simulcast announcement for the day is the one everybody's been waiting for: Chihayafuru 2. Fridays at noon PST.
Everyone outsources it to Korea anyway.
Mirai only appears at the very end of the first episode, but she's well known by now. She's one of the main girls on the bad ninja side.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but if that's how Japanese workplaces are still operating, then doesn't that become a realistic depiction as opposed to a perpetuation of old-school gender dynamics?
It will go back to Korea as Kim Jung Un starts to transform the country and cheap labour becomes a thing. I give it twenty years until we get to see anime made in the North. That used to be the case. Now they're too good so it's more like Vietnam.
The office dynamic does seem slightly strange in the show in other ways, though. Not only are there two "editors" in their early 20s at a seemingly high profile magazine (when the likelihood is, surely, that they'd be sub-editors doing grunt work, not writing whole articles), but the young employees talk to their bosses in a way I find very surprising, regardless of this being a Japanese show.

You guys notice how posts always slow down in the plus **40's and **90's post numbers on each page? It's like nobody wants to be at the bottom of the page!
This is how I imagine.ponpo
Wait, a loli? So much for being a bastion of full bosoms. Faith lost. No more hometown.
Anime saves NK.
I couldn't get past this, personally. I appreciate the unusual premise of casting an older female as protag, but it's like two steps forward & one step back in terms of portraying gender dynamics in the workplace - which, given its prominence and combination with an obnoxious faux-shounen presentation, I was unfortunately unable to ignore.
She's the only one in the entire cast. Interestingly, fans were asked about which character they wanted as the cover for Senran Kagura Burst's pre-order bonus (I think it was an art booklet), and she won.
That was a lie and you all know it. Fall had already ended and you kept that thread alive for no other reason than to stroke your egos. If we are gonna do this we need to do it right.
How the hell are we supposed to congratulate 7Th on his Spirit Journey Formation Anniversary if he went and got himself banned? Is he reading this thread from beyond the grave?
So, it seems that Anime News Network will be undergoing a redesign soon. Fresh from Christophe Macdonald, here's a look at their current mockup.

Look what happens to this thread when I'm not around.
So we're now a doujin review thread?Eh, I've raged worse at Sanbun Kyoden. Tachibana was so badly written even for the already low bar of this type of work, not to mention overtly drawn out.
YES... I mean, no!! wait.. yesssss
...okay, I'll watch it.
Almost 7000 posts in a little over a week at the same time kayos has come back to full form on AnimeGAF.
Coincidence... or destiny?
Well that is promising but I cant see much of anything. is she not fully revealed?
When he comes back, someone should go back and quote all the birthday posts in one reply, and include a digital card or something!

For a second I thought she had no head...
I'll just assume you meant no neck.

Wow, Sorata really is such a piece of shit. 12 episodes and he hasn't learned a single thing. This is like anti-AnoNatsu in terms of how you pace this shit out. Either that, or we're in "the books are moderately successful so let's milk this for 30 0000 books like every other crappy adaptation" mode.

They both share the same number of brain cells (or they both share brain cells, maybe) at the very least.Well... I guess him being the same VA as Kirito doesn't help, right?
Image flirting always ends badly. And hopefully we enter the gif singularity this year where we just post gifs to communicate.

I will get around to re-watching Hataraki Man at some point but as I've already seen it twice I can remember the first episode fairly well. For those hoping for more of the people in the office to have their characters explored you will get your wish.
Anyway, I'm glad people are finally watching this series as it's some I've been recommending for a few years now and not just because it has a unique setting.
For better or for worse, I shrug it off in a "lol japan u so crazy and backward" way, but yours is a completely understandable way of looking at it - and probably a "better" one. (Probably not the right word for what I mean...)

Is it me or there was another Sambomaster song in the scene where she is smoking on the roof? Whatever's the case I now feel like playing some Ouendan 2 aka the best video game of all time.
Well, it helps discussion to have actually seen it, or if not, to have read the other part of my post. Anyway, the shounen/shoujo approach of the show means we get a cartoony, over the top depiction of this lady needing to go into manly testosterone overdrive or w/e in order to get any work done (I can't remember if they literally show it like that, but it's basically that dumb) which is problematic as hell in itself and pointing more towards, yes, a perpetuation than an impartial depiction. In any case, none of this is remotely realistic.
So it's less like a realistic depiction of gender dynamics in the Japanese workplace - it's too soft and toothless to do that anyway, given that the reality would seem to be harsher than what we get here - and really more of a hammer-subtle, simplistic, and thoughtlessly wrongheaded attempt at female empowerment.
Don't take it from me though, as most people seem to like it!
