Probably wasn't the best time to start posting random K-On art thinking about it.I wake up and I see K-ON GAF has finally assassinated jman.
Oh, it seems that Production IG already made a promotional CM for Mushibugyou a couple years ago; maybe they'll be the ones dragged back for the anime.
So, Weekly Shonen Sunday promised 8 announcements and we got:
1. a new Detective Conan movie (predictable)
2. Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke (knew about it before the "reveal")
3. Sasami-san@Ganbaranai (barely counts as a WSS series, since the manga started long after the anime was announced)
4. Arata Kangatari ~Engaku Kougatari~ (I'll give them this one)
5. Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai S3 (a pleasant surprise)
6. Hayate no Gotoku! (another nice surprise, though if it's S2 or Eyes S2 is unknown)
7. Silver Spoon (also predicted)
8. Mushibugyou

This is the worst plan. Somehow the good guys exploded a large enough bomb to knock Mercury out of orbit. Sadly, this conclusion (that I've put off for far too long) is sort of a let down so far. There's some returning characters helping either side but given they were mostly incidental until now, there's no real weight to their actions. There's this big galactic showdown afoot but it's just hard to get excited about.

Viz posted a preview of Lagrange dub which their airing this weekend on the Neon Alley service, though since PSN is down...guess people cant watch it tonight...Though Izo and Kirius sound amazing, but Ive been pronouncing La Garite incorrectly.
As soon as I find a mecha anime to fill the hole Nadesico left in my life. I mean, yeah, Eureka Seven is good, but it's just not the same.
Discount all pink mobile suits first.
The mecha action is good and the characters are somewhat less awful, but it's still crap.

edit: also it was pulling fun at K-ON so it was pretty great (only Yukko seems a tad too good looking)

There's a pretty serious lack of cute girls with robots this season.
I'm voting for "tickety-boo!" as the most appropriate localisation.

Alright so, long story short, I'm retiring from GAF. Not anything to do with you guys, just that posting here (and other places on the internet, including the IRC) constantly is a distraction that I can no longer afford. I may or may not come back later on down the line, but for right now I'm done.
Actually, I'll probably make the occasional post on Gaming if something big happens and maybe show up here to give quick impressions on what I'm currently watching, but nothing more. Just can't do it anymore.
Sasami, Haganai, and Minami-ke are still pretty good and I have no desire to watch Tamako 2. Maybe one of these days... Hopefully others here will be able to take on the SHAFT banner in my stead!
Well, you're probably gone already, but good luck in whatever ventures you decide to undergo. Sometimes I feel the same way, that wasting time on a message board would be much better used for something productive, and getting too attached to a bunch of people I only know through text is a bad idea.
Anyway, life takes priority, so have a good one.

Man! What an episode! Ryu proves once and for all he's a man's man by punching Amuro, Kai, and Hyato when they ALL deserve it. Then we get HAWT Seyla x Gundam action. Then crazy crazy crazy all over White Base. Ramba Ral is like, the nicest "villain" ever. And DAT EXIT. Oh man, when the music started and he jumped and OH MAN.
This was a good episode.

Eating broccoli is so very important, it takes nearly as much time as the heavy breathing scene from Star Driver.
Back to this again. Not-Lockon continues to be as mad as a brush while Incestia and the Lesbian Witch are captured by what almost look like the old man version of Gin from Gintama. By far the most important thing we learn though is that there a chet-girl whose name, I oddly forget because she never really mentions it at all. Certainly not over a dozen times anyway.
I can't really add anything more to this so I'll let Envelope do it for me.
As much as this show is beginning to cause physical pain, I still adore all the totally forced symbolism they love to add into it.

I did not make it past the first five minutes of Linebarrels. The OP was horrid and the women were shrill.
I can heartily recommend GaoGaiGar if you've not seen it. It's nothing as complex as Nadesico and there's a fair chunk of episodes at the start where it's very much a saturday morning kids show but by the end it it just fantastic fun.

Chihaya talked about how she wanted new members because of what happened in the previous year. And then after that great dramatic moment she runs off in dramatic fashion...right into a desk.
There was a really great mix of character development and comedy which flowed together perfectly. Just the kind of thing I want from Chihayafuru.

Belldandy gets turned into a demon by Marller infiltrating Heaven, which seems depressingly sterile and bureaucratic. That girl at the reception desk processing Belldandy's license looked fucking miserable.
So Belldandy now has to do evil things like jaywalk, wear sunglasses (Holy Bell also wearing sunglasses as well was a pretty funny touch) and read books at the bookstore without buying them in order for Keiichi to experience good fortune. But she can't bear it. So Peorth helps her. I'm not quite sure I understand how. Seems kinda like some deus ex machina rule they made up to turn her back into a goddess.

A really nice episode with a bit of a slow start. Holland is sinking to new levels of king jerkassery, Renton is proving he ain't nobody's nice guy, and Eureka reminds us all that green haired girls look cuter without hair decos.
Also there was a nightmare moment in the episode when Eureka had shorter hair and a scar and looked like the fugliest of her three curs.
