This is the same episode that has one of its characters walking in circles just for the sake of giving the scene any modicum of energy. Not even Legend of the Galactic Heroes went to such ridiculousness.
Talking is good. I don't get anime fans and their hate of talking. It's like most fans have the attention span of Yui from K-ON. Now what's important when you do go down that path though is to try and keep the dialogue interesting from both a presentation and writting standpoint which a lot of anime fall flat on their face in doing. Then you also have stuff like Fate/Zero 01 though which is hated for the talking, but is actually very very well done and actually interesting.

i love talking too ...but there comes a time where your ennemy is in front of you and you must act.
In the lastest episode of smile precure , the main heroine (while fighting) is asking the final boss what he is !
Seriously ??
Talking is sometimes necessary ..sometimes it's not. In the other seasons they did the talking way before the final encounter. it's not talking that is the problem it's talking when it's necessary. You don't start talking to the final boss during the final fight asking questions ..at this point the only talks i want to hear is the final moves, or " this it it " , "take this [insert awesome move name here ] " and so on.
Well what a shocker, it solved the issue I had with the previous 2 episodes, we go to visit Sorata's family, and they're a fun bunch to be with, the character interactions are as entertaining as ever, and I'll leave DTL to post a disturbing pic of Sorata and the dad talking about tight assholes in the bath.
Now then did I think that was a good episode?
HELL. NO!
WHAT. THE. FLYING. FUCK!?
Now I've read Fairy Tail from chapter 1, I've seen many an asspull in many a shounen, but to asspull drama like that, for what was already shakey and shitty reasons, no, just, no, how in this god's green earth can
Misaki and Jin who actually told each other they loved each other at the end of the previous episode
somehow miraculously create drama from that in the following minute that lasted throughout this whole episode, I felt like punching a wall and it dragged down me enjoying this episode immensely despite everything that I just mentioned in the first paragraph just because of the sheer stupidity of it and how it was looming over the whole episode for stupid reasons.

This sounds like standard issue anime-ism to me and yeah in those cases talking can be hit and miss. It can either break pacing or give a much needed "hype" for the fight that is to follow. Not far enough on Smile to know. (am on EP08 and don't exactly feel motivated to watch more.)
This was the first really good episode(s) since the first. Lots of Mireille backstory, along with lots of Kirika continuing being a badass. It also seems like the central plot of the whole show is coming together, which I hope will be as good or greater than these past episodes.
Slightly on a tangent but I was wondering if anyone would be willing to recommend any decent soundtracks I can add to my mp3 player? I realise there is a thread for such things but I was kind of hoping for a few handpicked gems without an abundance of youtube links to prove points.
I seem to have a tragic void of soundtracks with only Aria, Baccano, Cowboy Bebop and Macross Plus kicking around.
Well the economics is still there but Spice and Wolf S3 this is not. There is just no chemistry between Yuusha and Maou. Yuusha is far too dense and Maou is just not playful enough. I'll keep with it but I feel like I was sold a bill of goods.
Agreed. While it has its heart in the right place and is a decent watch, its not quite Spice and Wolf 3 in terms of character interaction. Maou and Yuusha just dont mesh as well as Holo and Lawrence.
No way. Some have thoroughly enjoyed the pain and thanked AnimeGaf for the experience. It depends on the person. You can usual tell which are masochists.
So it's summer. Which means it's fucking hot out. The girls spend the entire episode trying to figure out how to keep cool or distract themselves from the heat. First Ritsu and Yui pretend they're in the Arctic. Then Ritsu tells a ghost story to scare Mio, even though it was the worst ghost story ever. The twist was worse than the twist to Bender's ghost story in Futurama. The Windows logo is scarier than Sawako teaching a student piano.
Then Mio remembers there was a fan in the closet. Ritsu turns it up too high and breaks it/almost kills everybody. Then came the dumbest part of the episode. Mugi remembers, "Oh yeah, I have a a chest full of fucking ice." How do you forget something like that when you're trying to stay cool? Then Ritsu and Yui ruin everything (surprise, surprise) by spilling it while soaking their feet in it. At least they made it so that nobody would want to use it by putting their feet in it.
Then they practice campaigning for the SC to give them an AC for the music room. Only for Ritsu to ask for one and face no objection. Better to be prepared I guess. Then Yui remembers that she's allergic to AC (is that a real thing?). I was actually thinking about that through the episode. Good to see the show remember that.
Can't watch A's without the other dude. Even the movie shouldn't be watched first since that leaves out so much of Nanoha and Fate's character development.

This episode is probably the most 4koma like episode of the bunch. It's not bad, as it's got it's good points, but it's not one of the seasons stronger episodes.
Those are the smallest gifs I've seen in this thread for a long time. Not a dig, just that it seems 500 pixel wide has become a standard or something. Gives off a feeling of nostalgia seeing gifs so small.
I've kinda been interested in finishing it so I could form my own opinion about it after one of the posters here said that it wasn't as bad as AnimeGAF made it out to be, but ZachDeKoromaru's post is scaring me off again.
Nichijou: Episode 1
Well that was simultaneously the most confusing, and entertaining thing I've ever seen.
Weiner part was my favorite, but good god. This show is nuts. The good kind of nuts.
