I just looked it up. It was pretty much a bomb considering the hype and the actors involved. It made 155 million yen by the end of the 6th week. That's way below expectations. According to this blog I'm reading, opening before Golden Week might have killed it since everyone went on vacation instead of watching movies. Its not a terrible result but its just disappointing.

When Usagi is trying to get to Chibiusa, or has her, and the floors of the building in behind go by so fast. Obviously it's trying to convey a sense of speed but it seems like 200 floors go by after all that time. The camera then moves out and apparently they've only fallen part way down the building. It just seemed like they were falling forever. I can remember thinking "just how tall are those buildings anyway" when watching the episode.

Asemu whines that the other boys are gonna pick on him because daddy is a soldier so maybe he gets special treatment, and while Flit is easily the worst father of all time, Asemu is still getting special treatment. He gets a special NO ONE BUT ASUNOS CAN TOUCH model Gundam, is already a corporal, and oh yeah, his squad leader and the chief mechanic are his father's "friends". Except Flit has no friends.

Code Geass 1 Yeaaaaah. Uuuum. I don't think this show is for me. Maybe it's cool and all but grim-dark, anorexic, nationalistic Golbez-Wannabes just aren't doing it for me. I'm sure it's a really special show and really cool but . . . it's not for me.

Code geass is over the top but has:
-Good mecha fights
-an entertaining plot
-top tier production values
