[Neon Genesis Evangelion] - 8-10
Apart from Asuka's introduction, nothing much has really happened. In which case, I guess these past few episodes could be lazily classed as filler. Though, so long as that includes synchronized dancing robots, it's fine by me! But in all seriousness, it has gone some way into establishing the dichotomy between the three pilots. Asuka being brash and somewhat arrogant. Shinji is, well, Shinji, and Rei doesn't seem to really care much about any of it. That said, I would be shocked if some sort of triangle doesn't occur at some point. A real weird one, but one nonetheless.[...]
I can't tell who's worse. Midori or Mayaka. Aw hell. Who am I kidding? Both suck.
kayos is the 4chan mole. He's played us all for saps.
I don't even browse 4chan. It has a horrible style for me to browse, read, and post. Why would I want to go to one of the least intuitive sites on the net?

That actually is a good way of describing the show.
Son, you can't be describing the introduction of Asuka and her interactions with the cast as filler! Evangelion is a character study, after all (right?) and so to have a meaningful character study you need characters that change up the dynamic. There aren't any episodes in Evangelion that actually qualify as filler however there are parts of episodes which are largely composed of flashbacks (this becomes more noticeable and problematic as the series progresses, just like in Nadia) that don't add anything to the story.
But that's basically just saying slice-of-life shouldn't be well-directed, which makes no sense.
Look how lucid he is when called out. He knows the jig is up.

I know! And I admit that I was being a little facetious there. I generally prefer the more static moments, truth be told.
Not really. It's more the melodramatic aspect of the way the mysteries are presented.

They're presented in the way the characters view them. Either way, it's not a problem with the direction.
Why do you hate lesbians?

Did you want the ending?Tamako Market 5
Can Midori stop being such cockblock? It's more annoying than it is endearing.
Of course one of the five episodes that Yoshida did key animation on was this one as well. The action in ep.13 was pretty good as well so I'm curious as to how good Yoshida is in regards to action scenes. Yoshida's most noticeable trait is his character designs and animation but I'm now curious about the impact he had on the action scenes in E7.
TEAM MIDORI
HATERS PLS GO SHOOT HER
I didn't say it was bad, in fact I enjoyed the directing at times as it helped make up for the mundane material. However I could easily see that perspective that the director wanted to do something more grandiose.
We should be far enough into the season that most people have probably finished adding/dropping shows and by now have a complete schedule (with the exception of DokiDoki, but whatever).
How many shows are you all watching on a weekly basis? If you're participating in a backlog season and watching older shows weekly, count those too.
13 normal shows and 2 short shows here.
But he picked the material himself.
Doesn't matter if you haven't picked anything new up, just wondering how many titles are on each person's schedule, older shows included.I actually think I'm not watching anything from this season....

I was just about to link the second video myself; I still remember how that scene came to be: originally Yoshida was going to do traditional character animation but Imaishi found that boring and decided to give him complex mecha action to get him out of his confort zone.

Oh my gawwwwd... everyone is hanging on this dude's dick so hard. There is literally nothing special about him, and he isn't good enough to get away with what he's trying to pull. Absolutely zero planning of forethought whatsoever. And now this? Dude, it's so easy. CALL KATSURA. You are never gonna smang it. You don't even want to at this point. What the fuck is your problem?! I can't support you any more...

I also wonder how people figure out who worked on specific scenes. Are there credits that list who worked on which timeframes? That's something I'm really curious about. That said, holy shit at that second link. He really is topnotch. I mostly think about his distinctive character designs but he really can animate. I don't think he did the mecha scenes though in 14 judging by 7th's comment.
