Anyway, I was wondering about two things:

1 - Which team have you been using? (Zone Team here)
2 - Did you use the digital pad or the analog nub? (Analog here)

Now that I know how to unlock the classic tracks, can someone also tell me what exactly needs to be done to unlock the faster ship classes? I've unlocked the one so far, but I'm not sure exactly what I did for that to happen. Is it about winning medals on tournaments?

Because you are following the same path as the CPU players, you will hit most speed ups and weapons but you will also hit any CPU craft in your path.

That's not exactly true. Many times the autopilot has blazed past by CPU crafts. It does hit into them sometimes though.
