Wired: PGR3 60fps, 4xAA?

From Wired :

As seen above (and in all the images here), the 360's graphics processor uses 4X anti-aliasing to smooth out the jagged, stair-step edges that plague older platforms. Each frame is scrubbed four times to erase jaggies, and PGR3 still runs at 60 frames per second - twice the rate of TV.

Can we get Wired as a reliable source? It's the first time I've read this, expecially regarding 60fps... I thought it was 30fps at this point...

umm I don't think you can use that as a source... they don't even know what 4xAA means, and 60fps is not twice the rate of TV... :lol

Infact I was wondering if they know what they're talking about :lol

probably nonsense, but who knows yet.

As for 'twice the rate of TV', I'll have a go (love a good argument)

TV is 480i/60. updated 60 times a second, but it takes a full 1/30 to build up a 480 line image. So in theory a game updating the full image in 1/60 second is twice as fast.

Alternatively, it is delivering twice as much in the same time.

All I think that they mean is the TV is 29 FPS. So yeah they pretty much don't know what they are talking about.

Which still goes against what the developers told us (30fps).

I think they're talking about TV shows... I've read somewhere they're broadcasted at 25 of 30 fps, is it right?
