Wireless Adapter for 360?

How much is this thing? I checked already, and it said 99.99...

I'm not fucking paying 100 more dollars for this piece of shit. If so, I'm not buying the x360, cuz my tv is wayy too far from my router.

there are tons of cheaper options.

1. Buy a router that can be bridged ($30)
2. Buy the original Xbox Wireless bridge ($70+)
3. Wait for a compatablity list for USB2 bridges that work

You can get a wireless bridge for a lower price on eBay.

And yes, nearly everyone is pissed about the fucking ridiculous price of the X360 wifi adapter.

It may be able to work with USB wireless adaptors, which are easily half the cost. I don't know for sure that the USB would guarantee it, but the official adaptor is also USB, so...

But I decided a good while ago that it was better to ditch my surprisingly unreliable AirPort Express than try my luck with this business. More than one friend told me they wouldn't bother playing with me on Live if I were still connecting wirelessly, even. :lol

$20 faceplate am cry

*edit actually if you do the math, the value of plastic in MS crazy world translates well with both prices. faceplate=$20. wireless adapter>faceplate as far as functionality goes right? 99!!! makes sense!

I'm so glad I got the Xbox wireless adapter on clearance at Target for like $20. I just found out today that it supports 802.11g so I'm going to have to get a new router and upgrade my network a bit :)

You're late to the "being mad at accessories prices" party. Sorry you missed out.

That was a couple weeks long too :lol

Oh well, not everybody is a forum addict :D

It should work with the 360, just expect shit performance for online connectivity. Granted, a G-bridge only does you good if you have a G-capable router.

You people do realize that most cable modems can't even do 10MB/sec right? Your connection will only be as good as the smallest pipe, usually the connection to the Internet.

That's great and all, but I'm more concerned about streaming data from my PC to Xbox 360 :D

Would any of the USB wireless adapters work? I want to get one, but my only concern is that they wouldn't work without the drivers...

b is for bad
g is for good
n is for now your talkin'

G routers and bridges are cheap enough that it is the only thing you should go for.

Given Microsoft's stance on 3rd party peripherals (they must all be licensed), I wouldn't expect any 3rd party USB adapters to work. You will need something that can't be locked out, like an ethernet bridge.

This is speculation right now, and I wouldn't go spending money until there's clear confirmation of anything.
