Just a couple hours ago I recently upgraded to optical cable and a new router,I'm able to connect my laptop to it but only shows access to local but not the internet. My ipod touch/ps3 is able to connect and surf the net with no problems but not my laptop. I'm using Vista btw.

have you tried disabling/enabling the wireless card

on second thought that might seem condescending, but that solves my wireless problems like 90% of the time.

Yeah I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still ain't working.

do you have any third party anti virus enabled ? Stuff like nortain sometimes stops your pc from connecting to the network

For now you might want to try a static IP and maybe Google DNS, just to see it works.
