This situation is definitely a case of overreaction. Only a tiny fraction of buyers will get the physical collectors edition. CD Projekt is offering a very nice 20% off digital discount on both Steam and GoG as long as you won the first two games. Many buyers of Witcher 3 own these two games already. So this seems to be the complaints of the few attempting to drown out the many.

Its simply not the same thing. I can just buy this on eBay after release. That's not possible with in game DLC.

Not that I was going to buy the CE but shouldn't everyone get all the wacky physical stuff if they're willing to pay 2.5x the price of the game on its own?

Ha! I just preordered the CE for PS4 after seeing Witcher 3 at the press booth from CD Project Red today at gc. I don't even care.
Yeah, I normally don't really care about this whole "exclusive tiny bit of inconsequential content for XXX platform", but it is weird that this company is so anti-DRM on PC and yet is BFF's with MS on consoles. But ultimately every company likes money.

I am genuinely surprised at how many people are upset by this. It's just real life stuff. It's not even the make believe in game stuff we usually go nuts about.
People are really frazzled over some crappy physical extras (and the no "exclusive content" statement) when they'll still be getting what looks like a GOTY contender?
CDPROJEKTRED needs the cash and if this is the deal that needed to be made with the devil to see this game come out and with a proper marketing budget? Good on them. Shows that they flexed some muscle against Microsoft who was probably aiming for exclusivity or exclusive content and they said no and went about it a different way.
Most people in this thread have no clue (still) what goes into making and marketing video games. If this is the decision that needed to be made for a promising future for this title and the company and it's future at large? So be it.

Not sure why that needed fixing. Everyone likes food but if we were talking about fat people and I mentioned that fat people like food, does it really need to be fixed to say "everyone"? I was talking about corporate ideals, getting into bed with companies that seem counter to your corporate ideals, and mentioning that I guess money was more important than principles. So "everyone" abandons their principles for money? No, but corporations seem to be more prone to.

They don't specify in game content but its pretty obvious that that is the context. GOG version of the game is proof that "parity" does not extend to non-game stuff.
They have a quote from the CEO of CDPR talking about how awesome the stuff is. I am pretty sure this involves CDPR and not namco.

Are PC and PS4 collectors editions going to be cheaper from XBOXONE collectors? Or are pc/ps4 gamers going to spend the same smount of money for less?

Also all the Destiny stuff will be released to XB owners a few months after the PS owners so then where does that fall does it not matter now since you can get it later?

Yet, as a PC gamer, I don't care. I know their focus lies with me. Consoles are just an addition way to get some cash and if MS or Sony throws more their way for a silly cloth map, go for it.
Meanwhile, I'll get better support from them for years to come like I have for Witcher 2. More meaningful support. Support that matters to me more as a gamer than some doo-dad.

you have the option to buy the base game at a discount on pc that is not available to console owners. why support that then.

Dude it has nothing to do with Microsoft. It is about CDPR saying they wouldn't favor one platform over the others. This is not attacking Microsoft they are free to do what they want people just didn't expect CDPR to accept it.
Unless they are printing more copies this has been sold out for a while so it is just punishing people who didn't preorder the XBO version.
