With everyone releasing retro compilations...

Where the fuck is Konami? I'd love to see them release a disc containing all of their killer four-player arcade beat-em ups from the early 90's; TMNT, TMNT: Turtles in Time, X-Men, The Simpsons. *drool*

Chances of this ever happening...?

Konami has already released retro-compilations for Playstation and GBA.

But older stuff than what you want, yie are kung fu etc.

cause they don't have the license for those games except for TMNT, we couldn't even get a SNES Simpsons port back then cause Acclaim had the consoles rights to it

They did a compilation for PC CD-ROMs a few years back. I have it. Has some Castlevania and Contra games. Emulated NES versions, IIRC. Never actually installed it. :/

I don't see why they can't cut some sort of deal with Vivendi Universal and EA to publish The Simpsons and X-Men arcade games.

Konami doesn't believe in the compilations for the most; they're trying the Nintendo route of releasing old 80's games individually at the moment (Ore no Gessen line or whatever that's called), much the same as they tried to do with that Castlevania Chronicles line.

Castlevania Chronicles bombed out and I'm pretty much hoping their new attempt fails too; $35 for a PS2 version of Time Pilot is a fucking joke.

Empire is doing a great job releasing the highly anticipated Taito compilation as a budget title.

Taito Legends will have 25-30 classic Taito games and will be PAL-released in September for PS2, Xbox and PC. No idea about a US-date.

Gamesradar has a small clip of the collection.

I want Castlevania and Contra Collections dammit!

Castlevania, Castlevania 2, Castlevania 3 domestic & import versions, Castlevania 4, Rondo of Blood Turbo Duo import and SNES version, Symphony of the Night

Contra NES and arcade, Super C, Super Contra arcade, Contra 3, Contra Hard Corps

Tell me that sh*t would not sell.

Or if Xmen had a feature for full on six player mode. Letterbox it so emulate the two screen cabinet or offer widescreen TV support. That would kick so much ass.

Yes.

Edit - Oh shit. Dungeon Magic. I have this game. I used to LOVE it. I can't recall how many times I started over, only to get stuck in EXACTLY the same place, time and time again. Not that I remember the details of how/when/where I would keep on getting stuck!

Damn, one of the few moments in my youth where I can EXPRESSLY recall how and when I bought this game... :)

The collections of Konami always end up getting stuck i nEurope and Japan for some strange reason.

Scott is saying that Dungeon Magic was indeed a first person dungeony game on the NES.

Did you get to choose one of the four elements to have as your starting magic? If so, wow..I remember playing through that game but never remembering the name. Hard game.

which company did the side-scrolling (with some driving sequences) ALIENS game? I just remember you could be Ripley and/or Hicks. Plugged about $10 at one time into the arcade when I was a kid.

Konami. That game kicked ass. The "3D" boss fights were so cool.

I have Arcade Advance and the PC Castlevania/Contra compilation. Outside of Frogger, I can't stand Arcade Advance. Retro arcade games don't do it for me. I haven't opened up Castlevania/Contra yet, as I'm still stuck on level 6 of Castlevania Chronicles.

I really want a North American Goemon collection. There's 20+ games in the series. Only 4 made it here, and the rest aren't the most import friendly.
