Without WoW: Week 1 - a Tale of Shame

I dunno why you people complain about UO sucking now. All you have to do is play on a free shard that has pre-trammel gameplay. I use to play on this one for a while. Although I don't see whats so fun about being ganked by cookie cutter tank mages soon as you leave town.

Dear People who suck at GW,

shush. And dear WOW players stop trying to PVP in GW cuz you fuck whatever team you are on up. It's getting kind of annoying. GW is about skillset and strategy. Don't expect to get some nifty armor and to overpower others. You need to think out what you are doing or you're fodder. I'm going to build a monk and then remake a pvp mo/r due to a setup I saw someone used which worked rather well. THere's weapon drops and weapon customizing, but no there's not unique armor drops. That's to keep things even and to keep EVERYONE from being a rogue elf or basically to keep everyone from being the same class. Item customizing is less, but character and class variety is greater. There's a lot of warriors and w/mo or basically paladins because its easy to jump into and people are use to warriors being good class choices, but in the higher level areas and in pvp and especially GVG or Hall of Heroes, Warriors become exceedingly normal or average. GW has a lot of balance amd requires strategy. It's really about good skill combinations and knowing what you are setup to do. For example, a primary Mesmer could be many things. An Illusionary Warrior, an Anti Caster, a drainer of different sorts, or an anti-melee. Even a more specific character set like Me/N can be anti-warrior or anti-caster, using energy drain or melee crushing hexes.

Taking MAF seriously, WHICH I SHOULDN'T, I'd go with beast mastery if his second class is Warrior and try out being a double tank. Ranger armor is the second best in the game and has elemental reduction. I made a PVP R/W double tank with knockdown beast mastery skills, and apply poison + axe mastery. You can just be creative with GW and find combinations to work. I haven't run into another R/W like that but I was tearing down people with it. The Monk/Ranger idea came from playing with someone who used beast mastery spirits + protection enchantments to raise the teams hitpoints 200-400 points. A clever idea, and just because it seems like an idea is awesome.. there is always a counter in the game. A enchantment draining me/n fucking them up and that was the end of that.

DONT TAKE ME SERIOUYSLY! I AM WILDCARD LOLZ.

I just got to old ascalaloan, level 6 only tho. Also, is it worth it for me to go ranged?

Well most of offensive skills for a Ranger are ranged attacks under the Marksmanship attribute, but warrior skills are all close range. Beast Mastery is just stuff for your pet, but your pet is a close range melee attack bot basically. I wouldn't say abondon range, but use a combo. With my R/W, I'd use pindown on my target(Marksmanship skill which makes them move slower), then switch from bow to axe and run them down along with apply poison(ranger skill) to deal damage while poisoning them for further health degeneration, while they are crippled and unable to runaway. Poison is one of the commonly used Ranger abilities. A Ranger/Warrior has lots of running and speed skills also, so you could be sorta stealthy by just running past everything or keeping your 'aggro circle' away out of enemy range.

If you like the idea of poison, I have a poisoners bow string or two I could give you.

And now I spam gw pics:

And then we dance

Yeah people like dancing and getting naked, I don't know why. I normally jsut dance when bored or when I want to do a little victory dance.

Well depends on what you want into a guild for, if its for help on Quest and RPG stuff then any level is fine though I think most guilds look for people who have reached Kryta. My first guild recruited me in Old Ascalon though. For Guild vs Guild and HOH or other PVP stuff, you have to be level 20 in any smart guild to play. I'm thinking about switching Guilds as the one I'm in split into an elite group and what's left of the old guild is... a lot of sucky inactive players. I could join the elite group, but they really lack a lot of social skills. That's the way they can be. PVP guilds can really suck for helping others in quests, while quest groups are friendly nice people who get their asses kicked.

And for your character, I don't know much about the Warrior class skill set as I haven't been one in the RPG game. Also, if you are all boned up for Rogue--the Mesmer class is the one class with a Rogue armour set that offers +15 vs Physical Damage but less energy bonus.

No point in not going range when you need it, melee when you don't. You can respec your points any god damn time you want, and getting new respec points only takes what... 150 xp each?

I had myself a ranger/warrior too. I specialized in axes, would poison my weapon then do the axe AoE skill to poison everything around me. Also I had the ranger healing skill, and the mproved speed+dodge skill.

Also would carry along bigbird with me too.

I think its 250, but yah you can refund attribute points easily enough and refill your refund points pretty fast. So it doesn't hurt to mess around a little with your character and find something nice. Axe and poison is a combo though.
