$15M for GitS in China after 2 days. The weekend will be around $20M.

Kong is at $148M without service fees and $156M with fees. The domestic and Chinese totals will be pretty close.

I'm more excited for Fate of the Furious than I am for most movies this year. FF, Guardians and Star Wars. Whatever the Cloverfield anthology movie is too.

I don't understand Boss Baby at all.

Someone at Dreamworks saw this on Facebook while they were watching 30 Rock

Boss Baby is a movie aimed at kids. It's about a talking baby. That's really all there is to it.

The visual gags are mostly for kids, but most of the stuff Alec Baldwin is saying will go right over their heads.

EDIT:

$123M worldwide for GitS. China (including service fees) was $21M of that. Yet another Chinese opening above the domestic opening.

I was gonna watch Your Name today but the last few times I've watched anime movies in the theater it's always been fuckin' empty and I felt like a flop

That actually seems like a surprisingly good performance for an anime that's not tied to a popular series. I guess the good reviews convinced potential fence sitters.

Your Name might be but damn Sword Art was absolutely packed and it was way outside of Birmingham, AL.
Expected it to be nearly empty.
