Considering the lifetime grosses of Edgar Wright movies, he would be over the moon about $25M in 5 days. That doesn't sound too bad compared to my expectations, honestly.

Life already bombed this year. Sorry.

Poor Edgar.
$80,573,774 worldwide for Hot Fuzz seems pretty good though for that kind of movie, assuming the budget was reasonable.

Considering this'll be the first one not to star Simon Pegg or scrawny Michael Cera as an action star, maybe it has a real shot with the masses.
Ah yes, mega-star ANSEL EGORT will truly bring the crowds in
Now that Divergent is dead and John Green has no more books to adapt, the young female masses need to follow him somewhere.

His movies deserve a billion though. I dare you to find me a better comedy than Hot Fuzz from 2000 onwards. Fuck the masses for just watching Transformers smh
Oh shit, Despicable Me 3 is breaking the theater count record: http://deadline.com/2017/06/despica...-house-weekend-box-office-preview-1202120784/

Watch it still bomb.
Life finds a way.
I'm gonna do my best to make at least 1 million of those tickets.
I don't understand why they went with that name. It's not going to work out well for them. Where I live they changed it to "Baby: Criminal Apprentice" which might be worse.

Deadline is saying that Universal tracking for Despicable Me 3 is $85M, while some rival studios think that it will do $95M+
Sony is predicting a 5-day opening for Baby Driver in the low teens. Other think around $20M. They also clarify that the budget after rebates was $34M, so I guess the $40M was before rebates.
Tracking for the House is in the mid teens, while WB says $12M. That seems pretty terrible. The House carries a $40M budget.
Everything is being filmed in GA now. We really went overboard turning into the "Other Hollywood".Infinity War is being filmed in Georgia, right?

Which I'm totally cool with.

Side note - any ideas where Wonder Woman will end up globally at the end of its theatrical run?

Will gets 20m of that most likely
Colin Trevorrow is going to be the least consistent director of all time in terms of box office
Safety Not Guaranteed - $4M
Jurassic World - $652M
The Book of Henry - ~$5M (if it doesn't go wide, and I don't see why it would with the business so far)
Star Wars Episode IX - $750M+?
I saw Hot Fuzz for the first time 3 days ago. It was pretty okay really. I think I enjoyed At World's End and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World more, but that bodes well for Baby Driver tomorrow, if I've liked each of his movies more for every release.

World's End vs. This is the End? Man that is a tough call

I'm expecting a "trevorrow and Disney part ways due to creative differences" announcement any day now.

This is the same ranking as me, with Baby Driver being ahead of Hot Fuzz.Mine probably goes Hot Fuzz > Shaun > Pilgrim > Worlds End
"Episode 9 delayed to December 2020, goes toe-to-toe with Avatar 2"I'm expecting a "trevorrow and Disney part ways due to creative differences" announcement any day now.
Easy. This is the end got worse for me on rewatches.Nah, World's End all day, every day, to the end of days.
This is the End is Seth Rogen gathering his friends to participate in an Adam Sandler-tier scam.

Oh yeah. I think it's going to be a lot of people's favorite of his; it's so well-directed, easily Edgar Wright's most accomplished film and some of the best action sequences I've seen this year. My only gripe with the film was I didn't quite buy into the romantic as much as I hoped, but they have such great chemistry together that I was just about swept up in it anyway.Holy shit, that good?
