Woman Accused Of Punching Guy Who Thanked Her For Talking During The Movie

Buy it, don't buy it. What difference does it make. We could all accept it as the gospel truth, it doesn't excuse her actions.

She didn't say she pushed him because of what he said, she said she pushed him becuse of the invasion of her personal space.

??? If it was simply a push due to him getting too close, it would absolutely be excusable. I have no idea what you're talking about otherwise.

Oh, that's better.

He got close to me in the small hallway exit of the theater that is a choke point for egress for many people. Yeah, I wonder how she copes with going anywhere with lots of people, like public transportation, stadiums, and such.

What are you talking about? Not that she's not an asshole for this, but the context wasn't JUST a matter of someone being in her space.

The man apparently told her, “I just wanted to thank you for talking through the entire movie and ruining it for everyone.” For those unfamiliar with sarcasm, this statement is the opposite of how he felt.

:lol that got me

Never an excuse to retaliate to words by getting physical.

But I never argued that I considered it okay to do that? I said that if indeed she pushed him because of the confrontation + him getting in her personal space during the confrontation (which could be threatening to someone) could explain why she would have pushed him.

Sorry, I was speaking about the punch. I'm just saying, it's not exactly much of a defense.

I'm not arguing in defense of her; my only point has been that if it was just the push and the explanation for that, I could buy it - but because of the punch, I don't.

Was getting caught part of your plan?
I don't care how bad a film that I'm watching is. The trap must stay shut throughout the entire screening in a theatre apart from instinctive laughs in certain moments.

You can add your commentary in the drinking game when on Blu Ray or the cult cinema screening later

Nothing more pleasing than paying money to watch a film while the asshole in the next row has to commentate the entire experience.

Dude got chin checked trying to be cute. :(

Nothing worse than a person who talks during a movie though. I remember seeing Dreamgirls when it came out, and people were talking and sucking their teeth when the songs started. Like god damn you are at a musical!

There are two things that annoy the shit out of me when I'm at the movies.

A) People constantly chattering

B) The person behind me kicking my seat every few minutes.

God some people have no manners or consideration.

Unless she's mentally insane... literally insane.. I'm sure there's a side of the story that makes this make more sense.

Who shoves a person then socks them for saying what he said?
Do you not go to theaters? I've seen people swing because someone asked them to stop throwing popcorn on them.

She ain't insane. Today just wasnt that man's day lmao.

During police questioning, Taborn reportedly said that she pushed the man when he got close to her. As for the punches, Taborn explained that she hit the man in anticipation of him retaliating for her pushing him.
"I attacked him because I feared that he'd attack me after I had attacked him"

lol

If you feel threatened by someone, you're not often going to be inclined to de-escalate.
So your reaction is to get physical with someone you find threatening?

Seems like you're bending over backwards here.

Even without the other context of why this lady is full of shit, I just can't see a justification for physical violence against someone being near you in a public place where everyone is near everyone during the egress from a social event. Pushing someone away for actual threats or physical contact is one thing, but freaking out over sometime being near you in a situation where people regularly make accidental contact with one another and exit in a tightly packed hallway is ridiculous.

Holy shit. Exact same experience here.

Same movie too. There were a group of Marvellites that were causing a ruckus on every god damn line and throughout the movie. I also thanked the group on which the back row literally applauded me and one of the guys in the group retorted "yeah, like this is an oscar nominated movie" and literally ran away, causing laughs from the back row again. The group was in their mid 30s and weren't like millennials either.

Thankfully this was Canada so no punching but then I also was backed up with the back row unlike this guy who was a lone warrior.

I hate obnoxious chewers too.

What a terrible spin. Is that supposed to make people more sympathetic to her?

Lolwut

Bending over backwards? I guess I am, since I made such strong defenses of talking about a theoretical situation where all she did was push him. I hope this defense better empowers the alternate history version of this woman, because it does very little for this woman considering the defense doesn't exist for her.

Also, you keep making this false equivalence, and it's frustrating to have to point out how bad it is because it requires continuing to discuss "alternate history lady". No, if she had simply pushed the man for confronting her in order to create separation between the two of them, it would not be the equivalence of her randomly pushing someone away who literally ONLY was close to her. The argument is extremely weak because it supposes that the reason for her pushing him was not related to the fact that they were in a confrontation (however mild it likely was).

Seriously, the kind of responses you get from "I could understand if it was just a push", lol.

I wouldn't call them organized. There were 5 odd DC guys in the fifth row that applauded when the credits rolled, screamed "yeah" at Jokers intro but even they didn't have the guts to tell these asses to stop.
