The tickets for the Seattle, WA show just went on sale 20 minutes ago--they sold out in about 6 minutes! I lucked out and snagged a pair. So for the rest of you--good luck on eBay! :D

Maybe this forum is turning into SA... In any case, Achtung Baby is a fucking great album. It's arguable that U2 has been weak since then, though.

Good joke I read recently.

Peter Docherty dies of a drug overdose. Standing in line to be admitted to heaven he spots Bono in the corner, strumming away on his guitar, behind dark glasses.

Docherty: "Hold on...why is Bono in heaven...he isn't dead yet?"

Angel: "Oh that's God...he just likes to think he's Bono".

The new album isnt all that great but U2 fucking rules. Congrats man, I bet seeing them in concert is amazing.

I still like U2, but I'm not quite sure why the praise continues to be so effusive... I remember reading that one critic actually called How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb their best album yet, which strikes me as dubious.

How did you guys feel about the new cd?

THIS review pretty much sums up my feelings.

Dude, that's obviously a joke review. I mean, his hate for the song "Vertigo" is almost entirely based on the U2 iPod commercial. Maddox is just using the new album as an excuse to ridicule U2 fans.

I'm afraid it was not a joke review. But I'll damned if I didn't laugh my balls reading it! Talk about mega hate :lol

Oh and breaking news

this is partially true, but the media has been fellating this band for the past 5 years incessantly. its getting old.

As opposed to fellating The Beatles, who haven't made a new song in thirty years? Or the idiots who fellated William Hung? :lol

This U2 tour appears to be setting records in terms of how fast it's selling out, which isn't unlike their last tour. I'd really like to go to the Toronto date in the fall (hopefully they have two or three shows here), but I'm gonna need a lot of luck snagging one when they're finally made available.

They sell out because U2 appeals to the the 30+ crowd that wants to relive their younger days. These people rarely go to a concert, but they all seem to want to see U2.

I went to a U2 concert a few years ago, and I felt like I didn't belong (and I was 24 at the time). U2 does put on a dcent show though, but I agree with Maddox, their latest stuff sucks

Who gives a shit what the reasons are? If their concerts sell out in minutes, they sell out in minutes. That their audience might see nothing but U2 is of no consequence.

Anyway, it isn't like U2 plays nothing but new stuff at their shows. They're still gonna play a healthy heapin' of the old stuff.
