i saw some ingame videos from the latest build ^^ the framerate is going from 60fps (no objekt, no other cars, no effects) to 15fps (objekts, cars, buildings). last year burnout 3 proves, that arcade racing has to look good with tons of effects, cars, buildings and 60fps.

Did this game's predecessor have UFOs and all manner of other ridiculous shit going on around the track in an otherwise 'serious' game? If so, I'll be avoiding this one like the plague!

It goes from 60 to 30, not 15.
It looks like it's running at a slower frame rate because the sudden changes make 30fps look like it's stuttering, kinda like Sega Rally 2 on DC.
And Burnout has nothing to do with this, it's totally different engines, doing totally different things. Car models aside (obviously much more detailed here) world racing's engine is more similar to that of a flight sim; you don't have a track with a few elements thrown at both sides of the road, you have these huge maps and the possibility to drive everywhere within them.
You can drive around for minutes, then climb the tallest mountain and once on the top, being able to turn back and still see the roads you've been driving on several minutes before stretching below, thanks to its impressive draw distance.
Quite impressive actually.

youre right - world racing 2 wants to be a simulation. like the first one, it will fail. btw. i dont need huge maps, where i can drive through trees, fences, houses, animals and other stuff.

did you see the same videos? the things i saw slowed down to 15 or less fps.

here - another high quality image taken from the latest xbox build.

For reference, PS2 version of the first World Racing looked worse then that :P

I always though XBox version was supposed to be great looking tho? (never played it).
