Having 99% of game commericials sort of negates the prospects of a thread promoting the "Worst Videogame Commericials Ever," heavily diluting such a title.

"GENESIS DOES! Oh you can't do that on Nintendo... GENESIS DOES!"

GENESIS ( Buster Douglas ) "DOES!"

GENESIS ( Joe Montana ) "DOES!"

GENESIS ( Michael Jackson ) "DOES!"

It's only funny cause:

1. It has horrible acting
2. They're "tightening up graphics" with a DS controller
3. There's no way those two retards could make a good game.

It's thinking!

Seriously. I was hyping the Dreamcast to a friend, and one of those commercials came on and I was too embarassed to tell him it was a Dreamcast commercial. So terrible.

NO NO NO!!! YOU BASTERD!! THE VOICES ARE BACK!! THE VOICES ARE BACK!!!

"Clean is better than dirty!" FTW!

Incidentally, I think the commercial tried to warn us of how sucky the game actually is.... *avoids various projectiles being thrown at him by N-Bots* :P

It takes a lot to beat the original European Dreamcast launch ads.

Barbershop guy.

Kids throwing stones at a Buoy.

Jesus...

"Hey YOU!"

"Huh"-

"You still don't have a sega CD? What are you waiting for? Nintendo to make one?"

"Uh Huh"

"You've seen the games right? No? Show'em!"

****Blast of Sega CD games*****

"Wanna see more?"

The "Welcome to the next level" - Sega Ad campaigns is probably the best the market has ever seen.

...personally there doesn't go by a day where I don't watch that commercial. Brilliant stuff, IMO. Hahaha.

anyone remember the original Zelda commercials in the US back in the late 80s? I vaguely recall a guy with crappy curly pauly-shoreish hair and wearing a black cat suit walking around a darkish set yelling "Zelllllllldaaaa!?" like he was playing Marco Polo. They would then cut away to incredibly brief shots of the game and mention enemies such as Tektikes, Leevers, and Octoroks. But those live action parts were totally awful. Thankfully I had actually played (and loved) the game or I would have never been interested from those ads.

I was always vaguely creeped out by the Saturn commercials where a monotone voiceover with some swamp monster effect on its voice said, "THERE ARE LOTS OF REASONS TO BUY A SEGA SATURN." I think they also broke an N64 or something during the commerical.

Recently, I'd absolutely go with the PSP ad campaign. All of it. Except for maybe the very first commercial with Franz Ferdinand playing.

I remember it very well. That commercial nearly changed the course of my life. I hated it, and swore I'd never play that game. If I hadn't tried it at Wal-Mart without knowing what I was playing (and therefore needing it, despite the commercial), I might've ended up with a life instead of becoming a videogame junkie. :D

But...nothing comes close to being as bad as the Super Mario Sunshine commercials.

It's like carpet you can watch....outside

Their marketing department at least made the commercial memorable, if not highly annoying.

The Turbo-Grafix commercial where they commented that the SNES had "only 30" games to play, and they had hundreds, play us! The system just came out, come on :lol

I've been looking for the old SNES "Play it Loud" ad that used the Butthole Surfers song "Who was in my room last night?" I can't find it anywhere.

There was a Genesis print ad that used a very similar tactic, IIRC. It showed a small stack of catridges that was basically the SNES' launch lineup and compared it to a gigantic tower of Genesis games that it had accumulated in its two year head start. :lol

PS9

Hell, the entire PS2 introduction campaign. No consistancy. Didn't make sense.

Amazing what you can get away with when your brand recognition is at its peak.

Don't worry, no Nbot will defend THAT game. :P

Damn, I never saw the SMS commercial, but "clean is better than dirty!"? :lol

Recently though, it's over 90% of Xbox360 and PSP commercials.
