Just an idea, but...
Someone mentioned before about the possibility of playing PS3 games over the net on your PSP (due to a patent Sony filed), and while that would not be possible, might audio/video streaming be?
For example, say PS3 comes with a hard disk. Or can leverage your PC's disk space. Assuming it's in a "capable" sleep mode all the time, and always connected to the net, would it be possible for your PSP to talk to your PS3 over the net and stream music or video to it - so, say, you can access your entire music collection as long as your within range of a hotspot? Or provide "shuffle" functionality, so your PSP can download some new music onto whatever small memory you do have in your PSP, before you leave a wifi covered area (so you still have some different music to listen to even away from a wifi spot)?
It could be a neat way to negate the lack of hard disk in PSP..if you could stream music from your "permanent storage" - from your entire collection - there's less need for a hard disk in the unit. I know it wouldn't be generally useful though, since you're not always going to be within range of a hotspot, but for people like me who are for most of the day (college), it'd be perfect..
I don't think bandwidth would be a problem, anyway? 128Kbps wouldn't choke most people's upload bandwidth (for those on BB anyway). For those with greater bandwidth, video streaming could be possible..which would unlock a lot of other possibilities too (e.g. streaming of live tv to your psp if you're not at home/near a TV, but want to catch your favourite show).
Direct connections from a specific PS3 to a specific PSP might be tricky though..although I guess not impossible (?)
