Really? More like 46.

...er, what?

Don't know if joking or not - I mean the obvious thing would be you're joking, but you have "kyoto" in your username and the Japanese believe you're old once you turn 21...

"A woman's peak fertility occurs in her early 20s. After age 35 (and especially 40), the chances that a woman can get pregnant drops considerably."

This is the slope of ovarian reserve as women age:

So at 36 she can still have a baby - though the odds of down syndrome have increased to 1/400, 1/100 as she nears 40 - but she probably won't be having it "any day," which is what I was responding to. Unfortunately, 36 is old in terms of female fertility.

You're right about that, I've just known few people who've actually had issues past 35 so maybe I'm projecting.

Yeah, I have a friend who's been trying to have her second child at 35, they tried for several months but it hasn't happened for them. He's up near 40, so maybe that plays into it, but I know it can be a challenge at that age. Sadly, even if they conceive, the odds of miscarriage are up around 20%.

I'm 32, sure 20 something "girls" can be very hot but there's nothing like a 30 something "women" that i find extremely atractive.

And 36 is not old at all.

Isn't neogaf, being for video games and all, generally skewed towards a ~20 year old male demographic?

Not a surprise that anything over 25 is considered ancient.

A Guy I worked with (18-20yr old) made a comment one day something like "she looked good for an older lady". I asked him how old and he said "I don't know maybe 30"......I was like wtf 30 =older lady now? I was 26 at the time.

I'm 31, 36 aint old. The 30s are the new 20s.

I'm 36 and feel old sometimes. It all about context. Im in the Air Force and we get guys straight out of high-school. When I go home at night and talk to my wife I will say "this kid at work" when referencing 18-early 20 yr olds.

I'm 33 and can't tell the difference between a 17 year old and a 25 year old so they are all shit head kids to me.

Damn, I'm 41 so according to GAF...

I'm already dead. :/

On topic, Alicia's looking good. Even in that non airbrushed pic where she looks a little angry.

You know less about this subject than you think you do.

Even though fertility does decrease for women in their thirties, the large majority have no problem conceiving at that age.

Miscarriage rates are always in the 10-15% range, even in your teens. Increasing to 20% in your mid thirties is not a huge change, and even then most of these miscarriages are in the first month of pregnancy.

Average time to conceive for a couple who is actively trying is 6 months, and it taking up to a year is not unusual.

Chances of trisomy-21 increases with age, but 1 in 400 is still a pretty small chance. Even 1 in 100 is. Hell if you offered me a 99% chance of winning $10M, with a 1% chance of dying, I'd take those odds in a second.

Male fertility doesn't really decrease with age. As long as you can still get it up, you can have a kid in your 80s.
